Over the last 5 years, I've been dog sitting, walking and helping my friends' and family's dogs. Each dog I care for I fall in love with instantly and feel responsible for his/her well being until the owners are home. Afterwards, I still think of my furry friends fondly until the next time I get to see them. While caring for my brother's Maltipoos, I've inherited a positive-treat-or-love-based reward training system. I don't punish dogs for misbehaving, instead I try to correct the behavior with positivity, aversion, and redirection to play. I usually have high-energy, but like to match my energy with the dog's and encourage outdoor activity and mental stimulation. At my home are two loved animals: Diego the 10 year old tuxedo kitty, and Jim the 16 year old sleepy king snake. My husband and I love are our pets deeply, and whenever caring for another in our home we protect and care for them as one of our own.
