Pet care experience
I grew up in Arcata and have recently moved back to live with my parents. Our house has always enjoyed the company of multiple dogs. Currently, we have a chihuahua and two German shephards who are all very sweet and welcoming to new dogs, except some intact males. I also have a truck and love to take my dog to the beach, on hikes through forests, or over to friends' houses where we can relax with other dogs and human friends. I consider myself to be responsible and good natured so if you need someone to house-sit, you can trust me! I am only here for the summer and I'll be helping my parents rennovate a house so doggy day care (taking your pup for a full day) would be less fun for the pup than me picking him/her up for walks.

Kona was amazing. She accommodated us last minute and made it very easy to drop him off/pick him up. Kona knew exactly what to do to make our (sometimes) complicated pup happy as could be. She sent us a lot of updates to make us feel fully confident that our little guy was content. She proved her knowledge of canine behaviors. I would have her watch him again anytime I'm around that area and in need of a pro. Thanks Kona!!
If you are looking for someone to take care of your beloved animals, look no further than this caring young woman. If you need any proof to back up that statement all you need to do is meet Lucy, Kona's beautiful german shepard. Lucy is so well behaved and it is all to do with the mutual respect the two clearly have for each other. I think that is what truly sets Kona apart. Her caring respect for animals of all shapes and sizes never ceases to impress me. She always takes care to give the animals she cares for a clean area to rest after a long day of playing on the beach or in the forest. Making animals feel loved is something Kona is incredibly good at!
Kona would be a great person to trust your animal with! She grew up with many animals and most of them rescues! Kona at a young age helped me with my sisters dog that was having puppies and got right in to help and helped save a puppy that was not breathing! She has a love for animals and has a wonderful dog named Lucy, who is well behaved and loves her. She has seen a lot of different situations with animals that were sick and in need and she has always stepped up to help. Caring for your pet is a huge responsibility and of all the people I could count on one hand, Kona would be one of them!! She is super responsible and cares, I would highly recommend her to care for your pet.

Also I'd like to know if your dog listens when off-leash or has any medical conditions that make it difficult to take them out to a dog park, what kind of commands they understand, and if they are house-trained.
A typical day
We might go to any of the beaches in Northern Humboldt, Hiller Park, the Arcata Community Forest, or on a day hike at the Lagoons. If you're dog isn't big on walking long distances we could stroll around the Arcata Marsh or just down the street. At home we can play fetch, bask in the sunshine, or I could give your pup some belly rubs.
