Pet care experience
Like many dog lovers, my childhood was punctuated by the love and care of my dog, Heidi (a german shepherd/collie mix), whom was with me whenever I needed her. That love set a seed of wanting to provide animals with a better life, or at least provide further enrichment to an already happy animal. At age 17, I attended Brooksby Melton College, studying a National Award in Animal Management, which I passed. The course entailed a canine module, with much work done in kennels and training dogs. I also provided primary care for a husky from 3 months - 3 years old, and was responsible for his training, socialisation and enrichment, and he grew into a very well behaved and polite gentleman (at least, as much as a husky can get). Now, at age 32, I am studying a BSc in Environmental Science, as my love for animals grew into a passion for nature and the environment.

While I am unable to cater for pet care in my own home, I am more than happy to do drop in visits. Depending on the type of visit, from a walk to an overnight stay, I will work primarily on enrichment and excersize, and if any training is required, then I am capable of encouraging the potential out of any dog, using positive methods. I am also capable of bathing and brushing a pet, though I feel I am underqualified to provide any additional grooming. Overall, I want nothing but the best for all of my clients companions, and will work with the owner and their dog to achieve a result that is beneficial for all participants.

Any dietry requirements and medication, their doses, and times of application. An initial meeting will be required to gauge a dogs temperament, and to build rapport and trust, with both owner and companion.
A typical day
First and foremost, I want your pet to be comfortable, relaxed (unless it's playtime!) and happy when in my care. Being an avid hiker/rambler, I know of many places in the local area, from woodlands to meadow, to keep any excitable dog interested and engaged in their surroundings.

Availability
While I am currently studying for university, and already hold a part time job, I am just dipping my toes in to canine care for 1-2 days a week. However on those days, I will be fully devoted to your best friend, to give them the best care I can give. If interest in my services increases, I will gradually ramp down my hours at my current job to make more time available for pet care. I do however ride a motorcycle, and it would be greatly beneficial if there was space to store/chain it up, as well as space to leave my gear while I am providing my services.
