I started walking dogs and house sitting around my junior year. After graduating in 2019, I continued working as a veterinary assistant for a year, learning medical terminology and how to administer injections, perform venipuncture, and also administer medications orally just to name a few. I love playing any games your dog enjoys and teaching them tricks! Bigger dogs are a bit harder for me, the largest I’ve experienced are black labs, pitbull mixes, German shepherds, Great Danes, and my brother’s Texas heeler! I was working as a PCR laboratory technician, where we worked with animal samples such as fecal matter, urine, and blood to name a few. I was responsible for preparing and extracting samples so that they can go through the analysis and we can provide test results to veterinarians so that they are able to come up with a diagnosis. I wanted a bit more laboratory experience, but since I don't get my fair share of animals as I did at my old job, I would love to help you care for your pets! I am currently working on my MPH from home, so I’m flexible and ready to help! Message me with any questions and requests to book! Since I’m a full-time master’s student, school does take up a lot of my time. Fortunately, I only have class once a week on Tuesday nights and I volunteer at the shelter on Wednesday mornings. I regularly walk a corgi who lives nearby, but can take on more bookings! When I have gone over to my client’s homes, I usually just hang out and do school work. Sometimes I’ll go to the couch or go outside and just hang out with the dogs. Whenever I leave the house I’m staying at, I make sure that the bedsheets are clean and the house is tidy. I like to leave a place clean like I found it :).
