Pet care experience

Growing up since I was little, I’ve always had dogs and walked them in my neighborhood. I grew up with cats, rabbits, and fish, etc. I would house sit for other animals with friends and would watch my neighbors animals next door. I do have a cat named Forrest at my house who I adopted back in March of 2020. Outside of Rover, I have taken cared of family friends animals, coworkers dogs, etc. I made my Rover Profile in September of 2020, and have officially started Rover in April of 2021 and it has been going strong ever since! I mainly am known for dog boarding's, doggy daycare, and cat drop ins! I am open to also house sitting, and now have lots of experience with dog walking! I also have given dogs a bath too such as my own, and Rover dogs in case if they rolled in mud, etc. I love all fur animals and it is so much fun to do and has been such a joy spending time with each and every one of them! Taking care of the animals is so rewarding, and it really does make the days much sunnier!

*IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!*: Because Rover doesn't have the option I don't have a fully fenced in Yard. I am waiting for an estimate currently and will hopefully have a full fence at the end of Summer 2024. That is my goal. Rover require's us sitter's to be outside with your dog AT ALL TIMES! I would never leave your dog alone, and I have two dog tie outs and would walk them on their leash. I know this is a concern for clients and potential clients and Rover knows about this as well. I haven't left a dog out of my site and I would make sure they are okay at all times. They are always by my side! I bought my house in March of 2020, and there are still updates to be made and that is one of them. Don't worry it will be fixed! I have three bedrooms, plus a basement that is cooler, entry way, and large living room that they would have plenty of space. One of the 3 bedrooms is my dog room in which I offer a 2 Kennels (medium/small size), a pet taxi, I have some dog supplies such as a bed, blankets, dog toys, treats, dog bowls. I also provide extra leashes, dog tie outs, poop bags, Ring Camera (to check on them if I'm not home), pee pads, Resolve Cleaner, dog brushes, Burt's Bee's Shampoo, Vet Hot Spot, and a dog binder with your pet bios if you are a repeat client. Please bring whatever you need for your dog to feel comfortable! I want them to feel like home away from home! This is also talked about at the meet and greet as well! Please feel free if you have any questions regarding my home, or anything in regards to your dog! House Sitting: I would provide the routine with what is given to me by the clinet and all of my attention. This would be something discussed with my client in person as well. Drop-ins: I would come at the given agreed upon time, and would give lots of love and attention and make sure they are getting what is needed. Again, this is something agreed upon with the client. With house sitting and drop-ins if you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Dog Daycare: It is the same as with Dog Boarding please read above, and please ask away! Dog Walking: I would come to your neighborhood and walk them and we can schedule a meet and greet ahead of time. *LASTLY PLEASE READ:* If at any point for House Sitting, Dog Walking/Boarding/Daycare, and Drop-In anything were to happen with your pet emergency wise I would first call you(owner of pet). Then as a Rover policy requirement I have to report to the Rover Emergency Hotline. That way it is on record and myself (the sitter), you (the owner), and your pet are protected by Rover. At the meet and greet we can discuss an emergency plan in place.

Information Kirsten R. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know any concerns, past history, mostly friendly dogs, and I would prefer a type of dog who won’t be violent or hurt anyone. Anything in writing helps, and having an emergency plan in place is important to create together (owner and sitter) to discuss and write, along with all vet information and phone numbers! It is also important for them to be crate trained for when I am gone during the day when I am at work. The reason is because with having a shy, kitty I want Forrest to be comfortable as it's some change in can be overwhelming at first and it is his home. Also, for a liability, I want your dogs to be safe being that its a new environment. When I am home, they will be out and they will be able to explore and have lots of love and attention and to make sure they get let out to go potty, get a good walk in, play time, and get fed. If they are not crate trained please let me know and we can work something out. I do have a dog room for them to be in while I am away. I want to know anything that will help your dog to be comfortable. It is also important that if there is any medications to be administered, please let me know. Even sending a video as a how too! Lastly, putting in all information about your pet in the biography is key when you book with me so I know some information during my stay with your dog, boarding, and before the meet and greet! The more information and details, the better it helps me to get to know your dog and make sure that they have excellent care!

A typical day

I would walk them to the nearest parks, and play tug-a-war, and fetch! I would snuggle with them and give treats of course and make them feel comfortable! I would either take them to Marathon Park or 3M Park to play and walk! I will keep the dogs on the tie out in my yard and be outside with them too! I do stay outside with the dog for safety! I would show them the room they are staying in when they are at my house! I would take lots of photos and document moments and all of the exciting things! In the summer time and weekends for house sitting I will do what the owner would like and do the same type of care in their home and make sure that they are comfortable with me!

*I WORK FROM 7:30 AM UNTIL 5:00 PM CURRENTLY WHICH IS FULL TIME. OVERALL MY SCHEDULE VARIES AND CHANGES, AND I DO GET DONE SOME DAYS AT 3:00 PM. IF I DO NOT RESPOND RIGHT AWAY IT IS BECAUSE I AM WITH STUDENTS, I WILL RESPOND AS SOON AS I AM ABLE.* During the school year I work at John Muir Middle School from 7:30-3:00 P.M, and part time I work at the Woodson YMCA in downtown Wausau, WI. Overall my schedule varies and changes and can check on your dog during the day depending. I do put a ring camera in my dog room where I can see your dog as well in how they are doing to update you. Weekends I am usually home and open and will be with your dog full time. When dog boarding, your dog will be let out in the early morning and will get out in the evenings ,on walks (weather permitting), and in between get fed depending on your dog's schedule. Dog boarding will work good overall during the week, it;s the middle of the day that is tricky, again I can make it work. In the summer time I do summer school, and the YMCA and overall am more open. I do only take one dog at a time, unless if it is 2 dogs by the same owner. I do make an exception if the bookings overlap, depending on the circumstances, and if I know both dogs well, and are repeat clients. For house sitting I am mainly only able to do weekends from a Friday to early Monday. Cat drop ins, and dog walking will have to be worked around outside of work hours, but it is doable! Doggy Daycare applies the same as dog boarding. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION (PLEASE READ!) PICK UP/DROP OFF POLICY: Rover's Pick up and Drop off policy is that they as for both sitter and owner to have a little flexibility, however should be sticking to the agreed upon time-frame. When booking at my place I like to know and coordinate the times in advanced before officially booking. Please make sure that you come at the time we agreed upon. If you know you are going to be super early or late (for drop off/pickup) , please send a courtesy message to me. The earlier you message me, the better because then I can coordinate my day as needed. I strive to also accommodate as needed for flexibility to make sure my clients get what they need. It is very much appreciated to keep me updated, and I am understanding of any emergencies or change of plans that come up. We can work something out (between owner and myself as the sitter) to make sure we are on the same page and can modify during the booking if it is absolutely needed! If there is stay beyond 24 hours or more, and I do not hear, there will be a an extra charge fee added by modifying the booking and it will be off of Rover's Extended Care Pricing with the help of Rover Support. If you need to cancel, you will be refunded full charge in the Same Day Cancellation Policy. The last thing I do ask with pick up and drop offs that they don’t go past 7:30 P.M. I do work early in the morning so I need the pick up/drop off to be at a decent time of day. Once again, if The pick up/drop off needs to be past that time I can work with that and make an exception depending on the circumstance. If you have any questions in regards to my schedule or the Rover Pick Up/Drop off Policy please let me know!
