Life is happier with dogs around!

Pet care experience

I'm very perceptive to animals' needs and moods, and I have the utmost respect for them as emotional creatures with their own motivations and desires. I find great joy in interacting with animals, and in being able to improve their well-being and see them having fun. I have been around dogs since I was a newborn, and I also have a lot of experience with puppies and new mothers. As a student working on a thesis, my schedule does require flexibility. I am able to budget at least 10 hours/week to this position, though it may depend on the time in the semester. I find that caring for animals always reduces my stress and allows me to be more productive, so I am hoping to maintain this position throughout the academic year. I cannot afford a dog of my own, so this is a great opportunity to support myself as I help clients who want the best for their pets, and while gaining the pleasure of having some more dogs in my life!

Kirsten is a very caring young woman who has a great passion for animals. She is responsible and trustworthy and she would make an excellent dog walker or pet sitter. Her love for animals has been predominant throughout her life . She has grown up having dogs and she has always displayed an interest in nurturing them and assisting in caregiving.

Information Kirsten L. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences. If the dog is very large and tends to chase after things, given that I'm a petite person, it might be difficult to maintain control on walks. I would like to know if there's anything the dog reacts strongly towards (eg people in baseball caps/ hoods) or if they do not do well with other dogs, especially smaller breeds than themselves. Please let me know too their general activity level/ age, if they are trained/ how frequently they have accidents. If the dog has any health issues, please inform me! As for other information that may be important, please use your best judgement.

A typical day

Definitely walks! Depending on the dog and their general activity level, a bicycle ride bringing the dog along or a run together would be normal for early mornings. If the dog does well in cars, maybe a trip to a park or a forest trail, or if the weather is too poor, we can play inside the home or relax if they are tired.
