Retired Professional Dog Trainer

Pet care experience

I'm a retired certified professional dog trainer (CPDT-KA). I've handled over 10, 000 dogs in a variety of settings from Shelter, Racing Sled Dogs, Vet Tech, Kennel, and running my own pet sitting and training business. I specialized in reactive and aggressive dogs using reinforcement training. Ask about a discount if you have more than 3 dogs. We have three dogs right now. An 11 year old sled dog, a 6 year old papillon x Jack Russell, and a 2 year old Akbash Dog (LGD). We love exploring Colorado trails with our dogs. I am uber cautious about the dogs in my care. I keep their safety at the forefront of all activities. Including diet/allergies, watching out for hot/cold weather and keeping them safe on leash.

Kirsten is a natural with dogs! She stayed at our house to look after our 2 pups and kept us updated with daily photos and videos. We could tell they were having a great time. Aside from looking after our dogs, Kirsten fed the birds and checked our mail, and the house was spotless when we returned! I totally trust her and our dogs love her...will re-book for sure for future travel.

Kirsten is one of the few people I trust with my dogs! She is loving and caring with all animals and shows dogs great respect. She helps them understand what she would like them to do and takes time and patience to get the required results without any kind of negative training. I love her positive approach to all dogs and would not think twice to have her take care of or walk my dogs at any time!

I met Kirsten almost 2 years ago in a Facebook group for a breed of rescue dogs that we both have. I often have foster dogs and I knew that Kirsten's beloved dog Larry had passed away so I sent Kirsten pictures of my foster puppy. One day I got a message from Kirsten saying she felt she might have room for that sweet puppy in her life. She adopted the puppy and I get the most beautiful pictures of their daily hikes. Her dogs have an incredible active life in the mountains of Colorado. I think she's one of the most knowledgeable and patient dog people I know. Anyone would be very fortunate to have Kirsten spend some special time with their dog(s) and rest assured they will have a great walk and be treated as if they are her own pet. Huge bonus, she's a fitness trainer so she can manage a dog at any level of activity it desires.
