Pet care experience
Animals I am comfortable caring for: dogs, cats, birds, snakes and other reptiles, small pets (ex. rats, hamsters), fish Hi! My name is Kira, and I'm a former dog trainer from North Carolina. I made a career change to something less physically demanding, but that doesn't mean I don't want to work with and be around new pets ALL the time! Animals are my greatest joy in life. My pets are my family and the light of my world. I'll treat you pets with the same love and care as my own. In addition to having worked professionally as a dog trainer, I also worked at a vet clinic while I was in school, so have experience with handling different animals, as well as giving a variety of medications such as shots, not just pills. DROP INS/WALKING: I have a 10 mile radius from my house that I am willing to drive to for my normal fee. Due to gas costs and travel time, if you live outside this radius, that's okay! I am still available for a small extra fee to help cover additional gas. Message me if you have a question! BOARDING: I have a two bedroom house with a fully fenced in back yard, with 3/4 being a privacy fence. My own dog is never allowed out back unattended, so you never have to worry about yours digging out. I work about a mile and a half from my house, so even when I am at work, I am easily able to come home to check on the animals staying with me. I have a pet camera as well, so I can check on them remotely while I am out, but unless I'm at work, I tend to be home with my critters most of the time. I work full time, 7am-3pm, but live 10 minutes from work. I am able to leave work early to accommodate medical needs for pets in my care as long as I have advanced notice, provided they are within a 10-15 minute drive of my work. I have a fenced yard, one friendly dog, and two friendly cats. I also have a spare crate if needed, although it is preferred for you to provide your own. I also have dog gates to keep the pets out of problem areas like the kitchen. For drop ins, I always take a minimum of one picture for each pet in the house. I generally take anywhere from 5-10 photos though so you can really see how their day is going while I am there.
Reviews
Kira always takes amazing care of our cats while we are away and sends adorable photo updates! It’s such a relief to know they are in such good hands. Thank you, Kira!
Kira took wonderful care of my cat while we were away! She checked off each box for his care, provided him some much needed snuggles, and sent awesome video and picture updates each visit. I would recommend Kira to any pet owner who is traveling!
This was my first time using Rover, and Kira made me feel comfortable leaving my cat in her care. She was very communicative, fast to respond to any questions/concerns, flexible, took pictures with every visit and was so patient with my cat - it was all much appreciated!
Kira did a great job! She was consistent and worked well with our cats. I was particularly concerned about our tuxedo cat who can be a bit territorial, but she did a great job with him and all was well when we returned home.

Information Kira W. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if you pet has any medical issues I should be aware of, special requirements for feeding, etc. such as medications, times they need to eat, etc.
A typical day
I usually walk my dog (and yours!) in the morning before work, and play in the backyard with them. A second walk and playtime are given when I get home, and more playtime in the back yard before bed. Drop-ins depend on the animal. It’s very animal oriented. I will stick to whatever routine the pet owner requests of me, but as far as whether it’s a rough and tumble play day or a rainy cuddles day, it just depends on the mood your pet is in. Their wants and needs are important and are always considered in how I interact with them.
