Pet care experience
I love all dogs and have special place in my heart for elderly pups. I'm experienced with doggies who have special needs, such as blindness, dizziness, arthritis, incontinence, etc. I cared for two years for an elderly toy poodle with many health conditions. I also have epxerience dog sitting for friends and family, including sitting for various types of dogs, such as an active black lab and an anxious rat terrier. Administering medication is not a problem. Also, I take my own dog to the Ashland dog park almost daily, and would be happy to take yours too! I'm an active runner, so if your dog prefers a run, we can do that. If they prefer a walk, we can do that. If they prefer to lay around and watch TV, we can do that too. I will tailor your dog's experience to match their needs and yours. Although I have lots of experience dog sitting, this is my first time doing it for pay.

We loved Kira ( and we are pretty partticular)! She is very thoughtful in asking and doing what we want; and, it is obvious, she loves dogs and hones in on what they need. She is an ambitious college grad so lucky she still makes time for helping others take care of our dogs. Thank you, Kira.
Pippin loved his stay with Kira. She sent plenty of pictures and lots of updates and gave him lots of exercise and love! Kira was great!
Kira does daily walks with our 2-year-old Husky and she is awesome. She gets her out for long walks on the trails in and around Ashland and brings her own dog, Pasi, who is a sweet boy and super playful. Kira is very responsible and loving with our Husky and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a walker or dogsitter.
Kira accepted our request to care for our family pet, Tyson on very short notice which was a blessing for us. We had just adopted him less than a week before we were schedule for a 3 day seminar in Oregon {we live in Novato, California and we didn't really plan the timing of the adoption well) Kira was great with Tyson!! She kept us updated without over doing it. He came back to us each day HAPPY & tired. We will most certainly use Kira again.

I'm pretty laid back about dogs--my only requirement is that they not be aggressive. A nippy, anxious, or grumpy pup is fine, but I want to make sure that my own pup is safe. To that end, I would prefer dogs who are ok in the presence of other dogs, even if they just want to do their own thing.
A typical day
I live in Medford and one of my favorite activities is taking my dog to the lovely Ashland dog park. If your dog enjoys being social, they can come to the dog park and play with other dogs, or sit in the grass, or tire them out with the Chuck-it! If your dog prefers solo exercise I can take them on a run with me, anywhere from 0-4 miles. We can also go for mellow walks around the neighborhood, or an adventure at Grizzly Peak. I'm happy to meet your dog's individual needs for exercise and play. I also have a fenced yard where we can play tug of war or fetch.
