Pet care experience
I have not only grown up with dogs my entire life, but I’ve spent the last 1.5 years raising my mini dachsund puppy Lilo since she was 8 weeks old. I grew up with Labrador Retreivers so I love dogs of all sizes. I’ve dealt with sickness and potty training and barking and everything in between. I also use Rover myself and understand the trust you are placing in a stranger to care for your pet (your baby!) and I take that very seriously. I will treat your dog the same way I’d want a sitter to treat my own.

Kira was great! She took excellent care of my two wheaten terriers. She was prompt to respond whenever I reached out, provided pictures and status updates. They were very relaxed and happy when I picked them up. I'll definitely ask for Kira's help again!
Kira is so thoughtful and caring! She gave us constant updates about our pup and tended to him with love! He seemed really comfortable in her home. We would love to leave him with her again!

I allow my dog lilo on all furniture and on my bed, and she is only crated if I leave. If you have a puppy I would also crate your dog if I need to leave as well, but if your dog is fully potty trained I will allow both dogs to be out of the crate together if I am gone (if they are comfortable around each other). If I am dogsitting for you I will never leave my house for longer than two hours at a time, and most days the dogs won’t leave my side. My apartment is quite small but there’s enough space to run and stretch out and walk around. I live alone so no need to worry about kids or roommates.

If your dog does not get along with small dogs, has accidents more than once in a blue moon, or regularly chews things left on the ground, this will not be a good fit. Please feel free to tell me all about your dog and their needs in advance so I can make them feel comfortable. Also, I am happy to schedule a meet up in advance.
A typical day
I do work during the day, so most of the day your dog will be by my side with ample access to a small backyard/toys/and my dog lilo, who will constantly want to play. Otherwise, we will go on long walks together down to the waterfront and around the neighborhood or to Patterson Park.

Availability
I work from home and have flexible work hours, and I enjoy taking Lilo on 4 walks per day (pre-9am, 1pm, 5pm, and 9pm). In between, I have a fenced in backyard for bathroom breaks. I am comfortable with all types of dogs and so is my dog Lilo! She is very playful and enjoys cuddling and roughhousing with other dogs. No need to worry - she is only 10lbs but enjoys dogs of all sizes. I try to make 2 of the 4 walks about one hour, and the other two 20 minutes. In addition, I’ll spend some time cuddling and playing with toys to make your dog feel loved and comfortable.
