Experienced, Responsible, & Fun!

Pet care experience

Hello my name is Kimberly, I am a pet sitter / obedience trainer / boarder / dog walker / house sitter / & doggy day care provider. I'm experienced in potty training, crate training, leash training, basic obedience training, trick training, desensitization training without "flooding". If you have any training requests or questions, please ask. My dogs are fully trained. My dogs have been socialized since they were puppies so with proper introductions, everyone should get along just fine. If your pups don't get along with other dogs, mine will stay sequestered in another area in my home entirely. My cat will also be in a separate area of my home - allowing for your dogs to have a safe & stress free stay-cation in my home. And to keep my cat protected as well. If your pups get along with other dogs, GREAT! If not, we will, together try create a plan on what way to best go forward. There's almost always a solution! If our dogs mix well together we move on to the next step and this is starting at my house for a visit (no charge) so that I may further evaluate your pups when away from you. I almost always require new clients to be flexible for meet & greets in a neutral location prior to booking. Then we proceed from there. I ALWAYS facilitate safe & proper dog play! Safety is imperative for your critters & mine! My dogs love having their friends come back! If leash manners are something that you need help with - I am your girl. I am extremely adept in teaching proper leash manners. Any dog can be taught with repitition, healthy & clear boundaries, & positive reinforcement! (I have not had a single dog fail in learning a better way to enjoy walks with the humans who walk them.) Virtually no dog on this planet is untrainable, you just need to find what works for YOUR dog - No two dogs learn at the same pace or in the same way. Dogs are individuals. When training dogs, they ALL should be treated as individuals. There are no untrainable pups - we simply need to find what makes them tick. What works for one dog won't necessarily work for another. If you need assistance training, we can discuss. But, I don’t and won’t train without your direct continued participation. Tidbits: We do not have children. *besides our pets* We do not smoke. We have 2 acres. My schedule is flexible for emergencies & overnights, weekends, most holidays, & day shifts, etc. Please be as courteous as possible if needing to cancel - I know emergencies happen & plans change - but if I have already promised my time to you to care for your pets, please keep in contact with me so that I can free up my schedule so I can be available for another family. Communication is key! We have wonderful air conditioning and keep the house at 69-70 during the summer. Your dogs will not be stuck outside in the melting heat. We have to replace our doggy pool, and will do so soon. I am fully comfortable giving medication. EVEN GIVING PILLS TO CATS! I can give Sub-cutanious fluids, and insulin injections (3 cats during my life were diabetic..) Again about training. If interested in training: Obedience training & clear boundaries are critical for you & your dog/s to build trust and respect with you & your family. Without these things - you can easily encounter chaos and frustration in your home - even with rudimentary "basic obedience", it manifests a healthy relationship. This can be & should be obtained with kindness, repetition, and again, clear consistency. Transportation: I have a large, (FULLY INSURED), Yukon, so transporting large dogs or multiple dogs is never an issue - I have the space for multiple crates. Or, if they prefer to free ride if that's totally cool with me. Experience: I have about 35 years of experience in caring for animals whether in a vet hospital setting, dog kennel, in home pet sitting, and in my own. I am just shy of about 15 years in experience with obedience training. Big dogs are my favorite to work with. The bigger the better!! Pet exposure: I've had my own pets since I was a child, everything from dogs, cats, a horse, rabbits, snakes, ferrets, fish, birds, mice, hamsters, gerbils... I've LOVED them ALL! I look very much forward in speaking with you and your family so that we can establish if we would be a great match for each other.

I was confident in Kimberly’s care for Ziggy. Ziggy and I met with Kimberly and her two fur babies prior to Ziggys overnight. This meeting assured me of Kimberly‘s experience with dogs and I felt confident leaving Ziggy‘s in her care. Ziggys stay with her went as planned. Communicating with Kimberly was very easy via text messaging.

Olive and Ivy had a great overnight stay with Kimberly. I had lots of updates and was very impressed with how much respect and love the dogs had for her on only the first visit. I felt very comfortable leaving my "girls "with her and am looking forward to when we can plan our next visit.

Kim took taking for our dog, like it was her own dog. You should plan on a thorough meet-n-great with her and her dogs, but she will absolutely have everyone's safety in mind. You will be rewarded with a genuinely caring sitter!!! Kim kept us informed along the way and even followed up after the stay was over. I fully intent to utilize Kim in the future.

I love all dogs, especially big dogs! (Cats too!) Absolutely No resource guarding (toys or food). They MUST be spayed or neutered. I will occasionally make concessions. They must be flea free, tick free, and clean in general. They must have current Parvovirus/ Distemper/Kennel cough vaccines OR titer test showing they have the protective antibodies.

A typical day

Lots of walks. If weather permits. Doggy pool. Organic dog treats. We have air conditioning for those hot days! A dog pool can be put up on hot days too! And lots of ball play & belly scratches! Naps. Bath if needed. Lots of potty breaks.
