Let your dog have fun and play while your away. I am an animal lover who has had dogs big and small my whole life looking to give your best friend a fun time away from home and you piece of mid that they are having fun and are safe and well taken care of. I work from home so I am here with the dogs most of the time, except for running errands and occasional evening activities. In addition to myself my husband is here evenings, holidays and weekends and I also have a teenage son who is here to help as well throughout the Summer and after school. Our pup is a 3 year old, very active Hungarian Vizsla which is part of the pointer family, who loves to play with other dogs. He is very friendly and gets along with almost everyone. He gets very excited to have friends come over and does like to jump and can play hard so he is best with active dogs that like to play and wrestle and can keep up with him and his energy. For this reason we prefer not to sit for puppies, smaller (dogs under 25-30 pounds) or frail dogs. One of the reasons we have decided to pet sit besides our love of dogs, is to give him some new friends and playmates. A tired dog is a happy dog and that is how we like him. Running and playing are 2 of his favorite activities but he also enjoys chasing balls and trying to catch the Frisbee, chewing sticks and chasing birds. We also have 2 resident cats who have been around dogs their entire lives and know how to run and hide if they do not want to play but we do ask that visiting dogs do not have issues with harming cats or a high prey drive. We have a large fenced yard with grass to run and play as well as a wooded area for hide and seek. A doggy door is open all day and most of the evening so dogs are free to come and go at their leisure for potty breaks. We live less than 2 miles from a dog friendly park where your dog can be taken for evening walks if they prefer that over playing in the yard. Since we do have woods, we encourage visiting pets to have been treated with a flea and tick preventative. The bottom floor of our home is available for dogs to walk freely around and our furniture has already been broken in and is pet friendly. Our dog is crate trained and does sleep in his crate at night. If your pet has a crate and uses it, please bring it along. It is nice for visiting dogs to have a nice quiet place that they feel safe in to make them feel at home. If they do not have a crate but do have their own beds, please bring those as well along with food, treats, medications and anything else they might need. We do request that visiting dogs have been neutered or spayed as at this time, our dog is currently intact. Also, we only take pets that are housebroken and can potty outside. We are pet lovers and do understand that accidents can happen but we would like to keep accidents to a minimum. We can be flexible with pick up and drop off times as we know traffic is not always predictable. Pricing is based on 1 day being a 24 hour period (IE Drop off at 10 am pick up at 10 am). Stays that are with in a 3 hours window of the 24 hours will be at regular price. Stays that exceed 4 hours will be incur an added charge of 1/2 our regular rate. Stays of over 11 hours difference will be charged an additional fee of our full overnight rate. We would like to try and avoid drop off before 9 am and pickups after 7 PM but exceptions can be made to accommodate your travel plans. If you need different times, please let me know and we can discuss them. Additional fees for earlier and later pickups may apply. 1/2 days and getting to know you visits can be arranged upon request.
