Vet Tech who loves your pet!

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Kim, a Veterinary Technician (nurse). I have 17 years experience caring for cats and dogs with special needs in a specialty/emergency hospital environment. I am bringing my skills, knowledge, and compassion home with me to provide one-on-one care for your furry family members. I have a fondness for senior pets and their individual needs. I am extremely comfortable and knowledgeable with administering all types of medications, familiar with disease processes and complications, and able to provide treatments and TLC.

Kim was a perfect dog sitter. You can tell she truly loves caring for animals. She wholeheartedly welcomed and appreciated Pepper, and Pepper had a great time staying with her. Strongly recommended!

I've known Kim for just over 4 years and she is the best fur baby mom I have ever met. When her cat was having behavioral issues she really went out of her way to figure out what to do for him. Many people would have either surrendered him or had him euthanized. Anytime any of her pets need anything she selflessly gives them whatever they need. All you would have to do is meet them to know how loved and cared for they are. On this same note I feel she would care for others pets with the same affection, love and understanding. She has medical knowledge so anyone using her as their care provider would have that added sense of peace knowing that their furry family members were being cared for by someone who knew what a medical emergency looks like. I've been in the veterinary field for many years and have seen care providers provide less then optimal care and it angered me but with Kim that would never be an issue. I wouldn't think twice about having Kim watch any of my kids. They are my reason for living and she would treat them as such.

Kim is a compassionate, competent pet sitter. She shows love to all. She is trained and educated in taking care of animals with medical conditions and knows when to be concerned. I couldn't think of anyone I would trust more with my animals! :)

Kim is very professional and cares for animals as if they were her own. It is calming to know that my pets are taken care of by a seasoned Licensed Veterinary Technician. I know she can spot if something is not quite right with my fur babies and will make sure they get the care they need.

I own a small, cozy house with a fully-fenced backyard. I have 2 agreeable, independent cats, and a robust senior chihuahua who is not a fan of large dogs (especially males); he is fine with small to medium calm, easygoing dogs to co-exist with.

Information Kimberly H. would like to know about your pet

The more details, the better! Tell me all of your pet's tricks and quirks! How is your pet with another dog/cats? What is his/her general temperament? Laid-back, mild-moderate energy will fit in well with my crew. What is your typical routine? I want your pet to feel at home. What medications, treatments, and/or special diet does your pet require? I encourage you to provide me with an emergency plan if you are unreachable for any period of time.

A typical day

Does your pet like naps? So do I! We can also take walks around my quiet, safe neighborhood, and there is an old schoolyard nearby for fetch, exploring, etc. I am a mellow person who enjoys staying close to home, and head out once a week to Mt. Hood or the Gorge for a long hike. During the many long, gray, rainy PNW months I love to read, knit and crochet, and watch movies/TV.
