Adaptable, Intuitive, QPOC Sitter!

Pet care experience

***I offer flexible pricing for those who are economically disadvantaged. I am also open to price negotiation in general. Prices look too expensive? Reach out anyway and let's chat.*** I am a compassionate, patient person, offering standard and specialized drop in services. I am adaptable in the providing of care. It is important to me to be well-versed in the normal routines and rules of the household in order to minimize confusion and disruption for the pet I am caring for. I have many years of personal experience with both dogs and cats. My partner and I currently have an exuberant, handsome young goofball of a Pit mix, and a distinguished gentleman Chihuahua Dachshund. See photos if you're curious! In addition to the basic care of dogs, I have had, handled, and cared for dogs with the following issues: - severe separation anxiety - leash reactivity - in need of basic training structures - dog/human aggression due to maltreatment/trauma - elderly/nearing end of life Within the realm of feline friends, I am well versed in honoring cat boundaries, and performing the basic cat care tasks - feeding, exercise through play, and hanging around for snuggles (or not). Are my prices too expensive? Reach out anyway and let's chat. --- Before accepting clients, I follow a two-step process to ensure a successful match: 1. An informal interview via messages on Rover.com, or over the phone in order to ascertain whether or not the dog would be a good fit for me as a sitter, and to provide an opportunity for you to ask preliminary questions to identify whether moving forward makes sense. 2. Upon completion of the informal interview, if we both would like to move forward, we will schedule a meet and greet either in a public place or in your home (whichever is most comfortable for you) to confirm that we are a good fit. Before meet and greets I'll ask how you prefer I greet your pet and whether you'd like me to arrive preloaded with treats. --- *Booking note: I typically require 7 days notice for booking to give us lots of time to do the interview process and set up a meet and greet. I may be able to accommodate shorter notice if my schedule allows. *Overnight Pricing Note: Pricing currently listed is based upon house/pet sitting wherein I may leave the house for up to 4 to 6 hours total per day for other work activities. -If I am needed to be in the home continuously for the duration of the stay, the overnight price may be increased by $20 - $40 per night. *Familiarizing Session Drop In Discount If your pet will need multiple preliminary visits from me before your trip to get socialized to me and feel safe, I offer up to 30 minute visits with the pet parent present for socialization and trust building for 25% off with a confirmed overnight booking. *Socialization Assistance Drop In Discount If you need to hire someone to come over and help your pup get used to visitors in general, I offer up to 30 minute visits with pet parent present for $10 off.

Kim is paws down the best caregiver for our lil' furgirl, providing everything she needs when we're away: stability, consistency, lots of play and walks, and most importantly, love. Kim intuitively connects with pups and cares for them with great regard and empathy, while providing outstanding communication with dog parents who just need that daily cute pic and update. Our dog respects and adores Kim, and we do, too!

Kim is absolutely lovely and patient with my two kitties, especially our very shy tabby. They're never too pushy with the cats and manages to draw them out of their shell naturally. I love getting detailed updates and I always know our cats are in good hands with them. They also try to be flexible with scheduling, which was a massive help when we got stuck overseas on a trip and needed them to stay a couple of extra days while we tried to get home! I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing a pet sitter, particularly if you need someone to stay overnight.

Kim was awesome! Really helped us out in a bind when a relative passed away and we needed someone quick. She was right there! Very communicative, responsive, kind and definitely took great care of our Stormie! Stormie took to her really quickly (which is not the norm) and we were really happy to see the great photos she took. We will definitely be calling Kim again! Book her-she'll do a great job!!! Thanks Kim!!!

*I only provide services in the client's home. *It is important to me to follow the rules, routines, and training methods used by the client in order to minimize confusion and disruption for the pet(s). I do not take pet(s) out of the household (with the exception of neighborhood walks) unless and until we have a firmly established trust relationship (and of course, only if excursions are allowed!) *I offer specialized drop ins at a discount to assist with familiarizing pets with me to further mitigate disruption and distress for the pet(s) if that is needed.

Information Kim T. would like to know about your pet

Things I'll need to know: -Any behavioral issues (reactivity, dog aggression, human aggression, anxiety, etc) -Specific triggers to avoid -Medical conditions and medications -Regular feeding/exercise routines -Existing training protocols/household rules to follow -Favorite games/toys/treats -Where your pet likes and does not like to be pet (and other boundary cues that may be very subtle) -Amount of time pet can go solo (if applicable)

A typical day

I am flexible with activities! My baseline is to solicit client suggestions/requests for at home activities. We can go for walks, have lots of snuggles, play tug-o-war, do brain-engaging activities, and of course any of your pet's favorite activities. If excursions are allowed, then we will go adventuring if weather and trust relationship permits!
