Thank you for considering me for the opportunity to care for your furbabies.. I’ve been a volunteer at my local animal shelters for 10 years receiving Volunteer of the Year 2021. Have walked, trained and handled all types of dogs whether it is just giving them exercise, interacting them in playgroups, behavior training, or taking out on adoption events. I am also certified in Behavior Modification to handle issues with leash pulling and dog-reactive behavior. Have trained dogs to be certified as “Good Dogs”making them more adoptable (sit, stay, down, come, heel). I am the Ambassador of Peggy Adams’ off-site adoption events training other volunteers the procedures on how to handle dogs. Being certified in behavior issues with the shelter, I know when we are in safe or unsafe situations when with other dogs and how to diffuse the situation. There are 3 barks (playful, scarred, aggressive), and body language is key; ears and tail are telltale signs of if a dog is being playful and friendly or if he will become aggressive towards your dog. These all are important factors to consider when hiring a walker/sitter; someone who knows how to handle dogs, not just walk and play with them.
