Pet care experience

I am attending UCSB Monday - Thursday and home on the weekends. I am available for dog walks, drop-ins, and in-home pet care. Over the past six years, I have built a solid 5-star pet care business in Dana Point and Santa Barbara . I’m ready to see some of my old favorites.

We had Kim stay with our Boyz on an overnight trip. She came for the meet and greet and we hired her on the spot. We forgot to give her a key, so she stopped by one day to pick one up…after she left, I wasn’t sure I gave her the right one, so she generously volunteered to come back and try the key before we left. Thank you, Kim!

Kim stayed at our house for a week to pet sit for a one year-old puppy. On the positive side the house was incredibly clean and the puppy didn’t seem worse for wear. On the other side, I did not feel that the level of communication was very good. I asked for daily texts and the texts I received were “ Hadlee is doing great” or “Hadlee says hi”. While in the rover reservation I said I was going to return at 8pm, Kim asked if I was coming home at 5 PM and I said that I couldn’t but I would try to be home between five and six. I cut The last day of my vacation short and rushed home and was home by 6:05. I was texting her throughout the day and afternoon to let her know my ETA and got the thumbs up. When I arrived in my house she was gone. There was no note. I didn’t know where my keys were. When I texted her she said she left at 5:30. When I arrived my dog ran out of the house to pee and poop which she usually does between five and six. Given how quickly she ran out, Kim either left earlier than 530 or didn’t take her out to potty before she left. When I texted her I asked about whether or not the puppy had eaten, she responded no. While she has been a picky eater, it would’ve been helpful to have a note saying she had not eaten so that I could put out food. When I voiced my surprise that Kim wasn’t there when I arrived home she said that the “Rover times are for billing purposes” and that this is her business and she isn’t Usually there when the owner leaves or when they return home. This information would’ve been helpful to know during the meet and greet which we had or through texts. She suggested that I find someone else if that’s my expectation. I would have been fine if she would have told me she needed to leave and We could have figured out what needed to be done before she left. I plan to find another sitter that has better communication skills.

Totally reliable, stayed in touch by iPhoto and messages while I was away, stayed extra time when my flight home got cancelled. Will definitely rely on her and refer her to friends for future trips.

I would highly recommend Kim. She was very responsive when communicating and she was always punctual for any of our meetings. Our house looked amazing when we returned home and the dogs were very happy.
