Safety & Love for your Furry Friend

Pet care experience

I am a senior Anthropology major at the University of Florida who would love the company of your pup or cat! I am intrigued to learn about the world and its people- from the past and present. I plan to pursue a career involving the humanities, historical sciences, and conduct research. My compassion also extends to treating animals with love, respect, and properly caring for them- I will treat your pet like my own! My personal pet care experience has been with Beauty (Smooth Chow Chow), Tiny and Bubbles (Rottweilers) Daisy (Pit Bull,) and Ivy (Shih Tzu). I took care of 2 Rottweilers and 1 Smooth Chow from ages 7-15. I occasionally took care of my Aunts' Pit Bull while caring for the other 3, so I can handle multiple large dogs at a time. My family then got a Shih Tzu named Ivy, who I took care of from 16 until I left for college when I turned 18. I currently do not have any pets.

I was very lucky to have Kiara watch Bruce! This was my first time ever using Rover and Kiara definitely eased my anxiety and reassured me Bruce is in good hands. Bruce was very anxious from the beginning but Kiara was very calm and handled it extremely well. She gave him lots of attention and made sure he took his medication and had plenty of water!! She sometimes stayed longer than the intended time during visits which Bruce & I definitely appreciated. Kiara is very reliable, trustworthy, & such a sweet person. I received plenty of updates/pics/videos during the visits. I would definitely love to book with her again in the future. I 100% recommend her! She’s awesome!

Kiara took care of my cat Zora with care! My cat was lovable to her and she was lovable back. She is a great sitter and I would use her anytime we’re out of the house

Our dog, Scooby was well cared for and taken care of while we were out of town. Kiara gave us great detailed reports for each check-in!

Safety, trust & environment

Pet safety is my #1 priority when taking care of your pet. I understand leaving your pet with a stranger may cause anxiety for you and your dog. To ease this, I make sure to provide daily updates and photos for your peace of mind and spend lots of time familiarizing your dog with myself and my home. Dogs under my care do not interact with other dogs without the owner's permission and my constant supervision. I offer lots of playtimes (indoors and outdoors) and can walk your dog through UF's many trails. I am confident in caring for any size dog or cat. I have 10+ years of experience walking large dogs (80+ pounds), small and medium-sized dogs. I am proficient in: - portioning sizes for meals - consistently changing bowl with fresh water - cleaning eyes - wiping paws - brushing teeth - using a variety of different leases (correction collars, harness, etc.) - administering medicine and observing to make sure oral medications are consumed. (I make sure they swallow and not spit out on the floor) - bathing/drying - combing fur - giving lots of attention - daily playtime To know more about my home, I hold myself to high stands to keep everything very clean daily-with and without pets. Since I allow pets on my bed and furniture, all linens are washed before the booking and immediately after your pet(s) leave. I also make sure floors are vacuumed, mopped before and after a stay. While under my care, you can be at peace knowing your pup or cat is in a clean, safe environment and happy with me.

Information Kiara T. would like to know about your pet

I don’t have any breed preferences, I’m comfortable with any kind. Things I would like to know about a pet are: 1.) If your dog is aggressive towards outside animals (squirrels, cats, ducks, other dogs, etc.) and other dogs. 2.) How many times should your dog be fed daily? Is there a cup you use to measure the food? 3.) Are there any medications I should administer to your dog? 4.) Is your dog socialized well with other dogs? 5.) Does your dog get winded easily/is heat-sensitive? If so what is the maximum time I should walk him/her? 7.) If there is anything you think I should know please don’t hesitate to tell me!

A typical day

Our walks will consist of going through my neighborhood and UF's campus to make sure walks are long and a fun release of energy for your dog. They tend to be at least 30 minutes every morning and evening with a short walk in the afternoon and just before bed. Other activities include playing with their toys outside, relaxing on my balcony where dogs can watch the birds, squirrels, and other beauties of nature, treat time, and of course belly rubs!

I am starting classes this Fall 2021 semester-Spring 2022 at the University of Florida. My class schedule is two, on-campus morning classes Monday-Thursday, with an hour break in between. I plan to be home the majority of the time due to the pandemic and not being comfortable staying in public spaces for too long. At most, your pet should be alone for 3-4 hours per day. In short, my schedule will be able to: -fit in 3 walks a day (morning, afternoon, and evening). -daily playtime -3 meal times (unless told to do less or more) -home majority of the time so while I work, your pet is nearby me
