As a child I used to walk the neighborhood dogs for $5. I believe that the time I spent bonding with the dogs I walked is what spawned my love of animals. At 19 I worked at Petco and eventually became a volunteer at ‘Bark N Bitches’ dog rescue / boutique. I’ve administered vaccinations, helped with neutering and taken courses in veterinary medicine. My favorite thing about walking dogs is seeing their inquisitive nature come to the forefront. They repress so many instincts being our pets that I like to let them be as “dog-like” as possible while walking. I don’t mind letting them sniff every single thing or jogging with them if they want to. I also pride myself on giving really good behind-the-ears scratches, I’ve never had a complaint.
