Dogs are the best people. I know this from having had dogs for 30+ years. I grew up on a farm, so all animals are friends to me, but living in Shaker limits me to dogs and cats. As a result, my wife and I own the world's friendliest golden retriever mix and a chubby cat who just likes to snuggle. In addition to our own animals, we regularly foster kittens and dogs from the Animal Protective League (but will not double-book this with Rover guests). We can't help it. We just need to be surrounded by animals. I've personally cared for dogs, cats, parakeets, hamsters, guinea pigs, kittens, fish, and miniature donkeys, so I'm pretty comfortable around any type of animal. We're already known as the animal caregivers for family members who need it, so it only makes sense to offer ourselves elsewhere.
