Care For Your Dog, Your Way
Pet care experience
Smaller dogs or well behaved dogs on leash are a perfect match for my walking services! I’m Kevin and for as long as I can remember, I've loved dogs and dogs have loved me back. And I think that might be what I love most about our furry friends; they're so ready to give love, without needing to know anything about you in the first place. During my time working at Animal Rescue Foundation, I learned how best to greet dogs and let them meet me on their own terms. I feel that this and my intuitive understanding of most animals I meet allows to be a special source of comfort for dogs in foreign and uncomfortable situations, or even just dogs that are shy and slow to trust. I look forward to providing love and care to all the wonderful families on Rover! I know how hard it is to be away from your furry friend, so for my human clients, I'll provide an update at least once a day with a photo and more information of what we did that day. I'd also go in-depth during our first meet and greet and really get to know your dog's routines, personality, and preferences. I always meet dogs with the two-knuckle "dog nose" first; this lets them investigate me from a comfortable distance, and smell me instead of the food and objects I've touched with my palm. If they're still especially shy, I'll sit down on the floor and offer my "dog nose" again and wait patiently. Whether the pup wants to immediately jump in my lap or spend ten minutes circling me and viewing me from all angles, I'm happy to meet them on the level they're comfortable at. I am comfortable with dogs of any size or age, and love all breeds (including Pitbulls, German Shepherds, Rottweilers and other poorly understood "problem breeds"). For your dog, they'd be sure to have a great time! Long, hard walks or short strolls around the block as often as they like, as well as lots of playtime for their favorite games. I'd also provide plenty of affection, including lots of belly rubs, head scratches, and cuddles throughout the day. In addition to my experience with dogs, I would be happy to watch your feline friends too! I grew up with three cats, and lived with one for a period in college. I absolutely love cats (almost as much as dogs), and would be ecstatic to spend some time with yours. I also have limited experience with lizards, fish, rabbits, and more, and am always excited to learn about new ones. No matter what pet you have, I will provide my attention to detail and passion for animals to their care. When I’m not pet sitting, I like to take walks, play music, and watch movies. Your dog would be invited to join on any and all walks, which sometimes end at a beach for a meal or music making with a friend. As for music-centered activities, it would depend; some music is too loud and can damage your pups’ ears. For when it's just quiet jams (i.e. without drum sets or microphones), pups are very welcome to hang out. And a movie would serve as primo cuddle time for your pooch! I can’t wait to meet your pal!
Reviews
Kevin was great - communicative of any time changes, took our dogs on a decent walk through the neighborhood, and provided great feedback on how the walk went. Our dogs warmed up to him immediately, and I could tell they really enjoyed their walks.

Information Kevin M. would like to know about your pet
Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Is your dog spayed/neutered? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?
A typical day
On a stay with me, I’ll be sure to keep your dog happy and healthy. Our days would start around eight for breakfast and a walk around the neighborhood. Because most of my work is mobile, I work from home and can spend the entire day with your pooch! This is especially perfect for dogs who need a little more attention or care. One of my favorite things to do is put on a little music for us (did you know dogs prefer reggae, motown, and classical?) and bring out a fun chew toy so your pup has some stimulation while I work. I also love walking, and rarely meet a dog who can tire me out, so any time your pup is feeling anxious or restless I'd be happy to take a break and take a stroll around the neighborhood. I love exploring new neighborhoods, so we’ll make sure to find out whatever there is to sniff out (pun intended) together! If you’ve got a dog who is older or would prefer to relax indoors, there’s nothing better than a little cuddle time on the couch. No matter your dog’s speed, I’ll cater the entire stay around their needs.

Availability
My main obligation is caring for other animals. I typically have a couple hours of midday walks, and often am visiting others for breakfast and dinner visits. Other than that, I'll occasionally be out for a dinner with a friend or out to see a concert.
