Most children are enamored with puppies and I was no different. I was three years old and was ecstatic when my parents adopted Mike, our one year old black lab. I was too young to handle most of the responsibilities that come with owning a pet but later learned how to raise and care for dogs when we went on to also adopt Emma. These dogs were not just pets—they were valued members of our family and we treated them as such. And I do the same for every pup that comes into my life! Caring for others (animals as well as people) is in my DNA and I express that part of myself in many ways. I find that creating meals for people is one outlet—I’m a chef by trade but I make my own schedule and it never interferes with my pet-sitting business. With permission, I also enjoy making homemade treats for the dogs I sit for! In my past, I worked at two boarding and training facilities, as well as a no-kill shelter in Denver, helping at-risk dogs. I worked hard to rehabilitate them, regaining trust lost through adverse experiences, in order to find them forever homes. I am now the proud papa of an eight year old Shiba mix named Killian, and returning to him after a long day has given me so much joy. He, like all dogs, is loyal to a fault, and constantly exudes love, affection and playfulness. He is the highlight of my day. And he loves other dogs! So when I board another pup in my home, he is always there to help make the dog feel at ease. As a person and in my business, I am transparent, light-hearted and giving. I am adaptable to change and can roll with varying levels of care and lifestyle needs. My communication style is very clear—I always, no matter what, provide updates and photos of every walk. If a dog is staying with me, I will give a recap of our day together as well. When you trust me with a member of your family, I don’t take it lightly and will do everything I can to ensure you are happy with my services.
