Fluent in dog speak. My friends call me the poop whisperer. Able to navigate blindly to the closest dog park in a single bound. I can play fetch for hours. I am a former college professor who taught English and Humanities for 15 years. You may find someone younger and cuter to walk your dog but I doubt he or she would be as funny or crazy as I am about the four legged species. Semiretired and fancying a life free of grading papers, I am now caring for a special needs dog, in addition to my Beagle mix Tucker and a Bassett mix I share custody of with my Ex. I also walk my neighbors two wild chihuahua mixes daily and take my sister's crazed husky mix to Stoll park weekly to get his yayas out. I have had herding or hunting dogs most of my life and dog sat and walked an Akita daily while in graduate school. I recently lost my sweet beagle mix Frito to cancer. I have a flexible mindset and high level of tolerance for the idiosyncrasies of dogs. I like long walks in the park or walking through neighborhoods. We have a new senior dog, Louie, who came to us with heartworms and we are going through treatment with him and appreciating each moment he has to give. We are members of Bar-K(West Bottoms) for pet friendly cold weather activities and have visited a new dog park every weekend for the past month on both the Kansas and Missouri sides.
