Pet care experience

*Now offering low cost options for transport!! I know it’s s hectic come travel day and I love to help! Ask me for details!! I am a crazy dog lover who was lucky enough to marry an awesome dog-loving dude and together we live in my dog friendly house with Mr Doodles, a recent rescue we’ve adopted after losing both our dogs I have mounds of professional experience, over 10yrs, as a Foster Home for rescue agencies. I began as a foster mom with King County's Humane Society in 2007 and in 2010 I began fostering exclusively with a fantastic agency called Saving Great Animals, which I still do to this day. SGA works primarily with rescuing pooches from Southern California's high kill shelters that are mere days, sometimes only hours away from being euthanized due to space. Knowing that the dog sitting in my living room went from having a death sentence to having a life they could never dream of is beyond rewarding and we try to always have space for one of their dogs if possible. in addition to being a long time foster family for rescues, I also have been volunteering with the Auburn Valley Humane Society since they opened their doors. I first worked as a dog walker and with kennel cleanup but now you can find me on wednesdays with my buddy Conner volunteering at their Thrift Store. Conner and I have been volunteering for 2 years and have a lot of fun helping out! I also get paid from my many dog owning friends to watch their dogs when their out of town too. And since most of my pals also have dogs, they'll often bring their pooches by knowing my home welcomes them and their dogs anytime! This circle of friends, who love their dogs like children (oh yea, did I mention that I have no kids so i'm one of "Those Dog Crazy People"?) have garnered me a ton of referrals for dog sitting and even a few requests to help with light grooming such as nail clippings or baths for other people who don't have the skills or facility to do this in their own homes easily. I even watch my twin sister's dogs when her family goes out of town and she is a successful Rover sitter but knows it doesn't get better than me when it comes to caring for her pups. And I'm more than happy to do so because I care and know that my attention to detail is better than most when it comes to understanding dogs and providing everything they need in order to be comfortable when their family is gone. I'm skilled with dog introductions, basic training and supports as well as kennel training if that's what works for your pooch. Is your dog on medication? NO PROBLEM!! Most of the dogs I work with through Saving Great Animals typically come to me newly altered so i'm used to daily med routines. I'm also aware of what to look for when a pooch is in distress and will be proactive to be on the cautious side. So why, with all these skills, am I just now getting into the Rover Biz? Well I recently quit my social service job of 13yrs and I'm working on opening up my own non-profit that has nothing to do with dogs! But I could use the dog sitting funds for some of the start up costs (like business license, business insurance, etc) until we get our non-profit status and can qualify for funding. Best part is that all of my employment is done from home and on a very flexible schedule, allowing me to continue with doing the work i love as well as indulging in my other passion-All things Dogs!!

Keri stayed at our house with our dog while we were away for a week. She made sure our dog was comfortable with her, gave her a lot of attention and walks. Plus, our house was very clean when we came home. We would definitely use Keri again.

no breed restrictions but if it's a larger dog, I'd like to do a meet and greet if possible before the pooch stays over to make sure it's a recognizable situation for my dogs as well as yours.
