Furbabies ARE my babies
Pet care experience
I have had dogs all of my life but they became my kids about 23 yrs ago with my first dog on my own. I volunteered at a no kill shelter from 2007 to 2013 walking dogs and since moving out of the area, I continue to assist with their events from 2013-present. I’ve potty trained all my dogs and taught basic commands. I actually enjoy being around dogs much more than people (no offense) and I treat them with the respect of people. I usually host one dog at time. On some occasions I can host 2 dogs plus my own. However, I confirm with all owners involved and I test temperament and require a meet & greet prior to accepting the second dog. Many owners like for their pups to be socialized and enjoy having this opportunity. When I host more than 1 pup, they are never left alone in the same room if I have to run out. I make sure they are securely separated, no matter how well they have been getting along. Never can be too careful. I am home every evening and on the weekends. I am still mostly remote working due to COVID, however this flexibility is never guaranteed and could change in the future. I usually go to campus for in-person meetings, so when it happens, it's less than once a week and usually (with driving time) less than 3 hrs. I have a Furbo camera that I monitor anytime I would need to leave home (grocery trip, dr. appt, mtgs, etc.). I updated my availability to the worst case scenario of going back to the office full time since it has never been formally announced that our current schedules are permanent. So please contact me regardless and we can check my meeting schedule for the dates you would like your pup in my home. I have 1 female, spayed 6 year old, trained chihuahua that is dog friendly/indifferent. Dogs are securely leashed before the door is opened to go outside for walks. However, my backyard is completely fenced in with an 8ft fence that goes from the ground -> up with no gaps. Poops are picked up immediately so yard is very clean. Any transport needed, the pup will have their own pet tube containment seatbelted in the backseat.
Reviews
My corgis love Keri! I was very anxious to have someone care for the boys while I was traveling as I had never trusted them with anyone outside of my family. Keri went above and beyond with her kindness, communication, flexibility, reliability, and genuine care for my dogs. I am so thankful to have found her!
Keri is absolutely amazing! She goes above and beyond and treats my fur babies like her fur babies. My kitties love her and I have so much peace of mind knowing that she is taking care of everything!
Keri is absolutely amazing! She goes above and beyond with every visit! She is an absolute lifesaver and my fur babies love her!
I always feel good when I leave Lexi with Keri. It feels like a second home. Keri is the best!

As stated in the experience section, dogs will be leashed before the door is opened to go outside. Any transport needed, the pup will have their own pet tube containment seatbelted in the backseat. On walks we don’t engage with unknown dogs, keep leashes secure and use harnesses when available. I have a small, enclosed crate and also interlinked gates to make a separate open top enclosure if either are needed. When I am home, your pup has access to wherever I am, including the furniture, if you allow them. I never want to break your training though, so if you don't allow your pup on the couch or in the bed, I will keep the same rules when your pup stays with so your training is not undermined by their stay with me. If I need to leave, your pup would be separated from mine by crate or securely gated in another room. I also have a Furbo camera for constant monitoring. I keep YouTube dog music channels on the TV when I am not there as well.

Information Keri B. would like to know about your pet
Any quirky habits, things they like and don’t like, routines. Any rules you have for them so I don’t undermine that training, such as being allowed on the furniture, sleeping in bed with me vs being crated at night. Allergies, sensitivities, medications.
A typical day
Lots of neighborhood walks (my street is dead-ended, flat and very dog friendly with lots of dog owners living here. Everyone is well-dog-mannered, meaning no one lets their dogs off leash, they ask if the pups can meet before approaching, and cross to the other side of the street), belly rubs, scratches, snuggles and engaging indoor and outdoor play. Cuddling and binging Netflix on the couch when it’s cold. Sunbathing on the patio when it’s warm.

As stated in the experience section, I am home most every evening and on the weekends. I rarely go anywhere unless I have to LOL, and when I do, my pup is either with me or it’s short periods of time. I usually go to campus for in-person meetings, so when it happens, it's less than once a week and usually (with driving time) less than 3 hrs.
