Experienced dog walker & boarder!

Pet care experience

My first encounter with a dog was when I was seven years old. My aunt had rescued a German Shepherd named Kona from a shelter and my family went to meet him. I remember feeling scared when I saw Kona because of his size, but he ended up being the sweetest, most gentle guy! Whenever we’d visit, he’d follow me around and nuzzle up against my leg to reassure me that he was protecting me. Kona taught me at an early age to not fear animals, especially large dogs, and not to judge by how something or someone looks. I’ve fostered dogs in the past and volunteered at the Lange Foundation in West LA. I also have training experience from the Zoom Room in Culver City, and have take care of friends’ dogs and professionally with Rover in the past. I take my duties very seriously, so you can trust your beloved pet with me. I work part time from home so I am flexible with my schedule. Your pup will get a lot of walks and exercise! I enjoy the outdoors and try to stay active, so depending on your dog’s energy level, we can spend time cuddling or going on hikes. I always root for the underdog and try to stay young at heart, always. I think dogs love being around me because I’m playful and exude positivity and optimism. Just as dogs help reduce stress in us, I really feel like we need to reduce their stress too. I’m super attentive and I connect with dogs by letting dogs smell me first. I always put my hand underneath their nose so they can smell me. I do bring treats when I go on walks, usually grain-free in case the dog is allergic. I look forward to meeting you and your pup soon!

We would highly recommend Keri for your dog boarding (and any other dog related) needs. Planning for a 14 day year-end vacation there was one major problem. Where could we safely leave our 20lb great little rescue dog, a very smart, active and fully trained "Mini Pin/Doxie". Refusing the advice of others to put him in "...this wonderful kennel" or another we turned to Rover. Issues were, availability for the full time we would be away, no more than one compatible dog owned by the "sitter", an assurance that our boy would be the only one boarded, and knowing that the person entrusted with the care of our dog really would understand & get to love him as we do. After much research and contacts with others on Rover we met with Keri. She had a small older dog to which she gave great care. She understood the needs and routine of our dog. She was easy to contact and promised to e-mail "updates" with photos (which she did) while we were away. She appeared to be a very responsible person and dog lover. She fulfilled all of our needs. At the end of our trip we were happy to pick up our dog who was in excellent condition (bathed that day). Keri had developed a strong bond with him and was sad to have to return our little guy.

This was our first time using ROVER. What an amazing first experience! Keri was wonderful! Everything you could ask for when leaving your almost 2 year old dog for the first time. Keri made it all very easy. She was very flexible and accommodating. She sent us updates while we were away and sent pictures. Hands down amazing - Thank you!

Keri has done dog walking for us in the past when we lived in the Brentwood area. We have moved recently so we live a bit further. She is caring, honest, compassionate and wonderful with our Boston Terrier, Jimmy. Jimmy is very shy around other dogs and she has been able to get him to socialize with other neighbors dogs. We have also left Jimmy with Keri for a few weeks while we went on a cruise. She checked in with us during the week and sent us emails with photos. She has a spacious place with plenty of toys for Jimmy. We felt very comfortable leaving our fur baby with Keri. We will definitely use Keri again in the near future. She was fabulous!

We left our fur babies with Keri when we went to Europe for two weeks. She was fabulous with our boys and took very good care of them. My older one is on thyroid medication and gets a pill twice a day. He is also on a veterinarian diet. Keri spent the time and was extremely patient with both boys. She took them to the dog park, made sure they got a lot of exercise and even took them on hikes! I was so impressed with all the activities they did. I felt very comfortable being gone for two weeks at a time. We face-timed with Keri every few days so we could see our babies. We knew they were in great hands. I highly recommend Keri!

Information Keri A. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if the dog has special needs such as medications they need to take; any skin infections I should know about; if they have aggressive tendencies, etc. I prefer smaller dogs that are under 25 pounds, but I am open to all dogs no matter their size, age or breed. Meet and greets are a wonderful way to get acquainted and see if there is a good connection. Comfort, safety, and happiness are the utmost priority. I treat every client, both human and canine, with respect and consideration, and hope to create a lasting relationship. I believe transparency, honesty, and clear communication are essential, so please don’t hesitate to contact me day or night. I’ll of course send regular updates via text and video so you don’t miss any adorable moments.

A typical day

I live in a one bedroom apartment in Brentwood which is quite large and have three dog beds throughout my apartment. Plenty of space to walk around the apartment. The dogs in the neighborhood are friendly and I know almost all of them. There is a dog park up the street (small and big dog park) where I like to take dogs. Nothing makes me happier than going on long, meandering walks, but if your pup is more active, I’d be thrilled to go for a run or find a hiking trail for us to explore. Some of my favorite spots are the Barrington Dog Park, Santa Monica Airport Dog Park, the beach, and coffee shops like Alfred and Starbucks where we can sit outside and people watch.
