Pet care experience

In short, I love dogs! Each dog has such a unique personality and getting to know a dog is such a rewarding experience. Getting to be a sitter is such a dream come true for me; I love getting to know each pup I meet and absolutely love having new friends to exercise with! I am currently a graduate student at ASU, so working with dogs is a perfect way for me to do something I really enjoy in addition to my studies. I will be with your pup all day, so I’m a great match for pooches that are used to having companions with them during the day! My main experience with dogs is having owned them. The breeds I've dealt with most are Huskies, Keeshonds, Border Collies, and Belgian Shepherds. However, I've helped care for many other dog breeds as well, so I’m familiar with all pups, big and small. I have done some volunteer work at a shelter that included some care and playtime in order to keep pups happy and healthy. Foster parenting is only something I've done with cats, but that I'd love to do with dogs as well. Although I’ll be the primary caregiver, my boyfriend Elliott and I live together, so your pup will be getting plenty of love from both of us. In addition, I have 3 cats who generally keep to one room, which is baby-gated off so that Mako, our dog, doesn't get into their food and litter. The kitties are pretty shy, so your pupperoni likely won't even encounter them during their stay with us. Mako, however will always be by your pup’s side, as Mako loves dogs of all sizes! He's very playful but also very submissive; he’d love to make some new non-feline friends and would love being pals with your pup! During a stay, I will make myself available to all clients at any time of day. If you have a question about your dog 5 minutes or 5 hours after you drop them off, I'll be there with answers, pictures, and more. I want to make sure each dog and owner feel as comfortable and safe as possible. If possible, I always like to adhere as closely as possible to the schedule that your pup is used to at home, so I always try to get a ton of information during our meet-and-greet about what your pup’s day is like and how I can spoil them the best! I am always happy to go the extra mile for you and your pup, so please don’t hesitate to let me know how I can make that happen.

Kenya made me feel at ease with leaving Daisy with her. I received update pictures that showed a very happy and exhausted pup. Will definitely use Kenya for future needs.

Our dog Harper’s stay with Kenya was perfect. We were in town for a five day event and knowing that someone responsible was caring for our dog gave us peace of mind. Kenya clearly loves dogs. There is a park near her home and she walked him everyday with happy pictures to verify. Her dog was a good companion for Harper as well. They got along splendidly. He was safe and happy. Kenya was easy to communicate with and kept me updated.

Information Kenya S. would like to know about your pet

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

A typical day

I'll be home with your pup all day, every day, so we’ll have plenty of time for exercise and activities. Each day we'll go to the park, probably 2 or 3 times as the park is very close. In addition to our 2 or 3 long walks, we'll hang out at home, and play around the house or run around in the fenced-in backyard. We have a pool, but the pool also has a fence and can be blocked off. I will never leave your dog unsupervised in the back yard because I know that some dogs are escape artists or accident prone and I wouldn't want anything to happen to them. My neighborhood is quiet and friendly. There is a park just down the street which is great for walks. There is another park just a few blocks away that is slightly bigger and more scenic, so your dog will never be bored! I love being in such a central location to so many parks and great places to walk and I bet your pup will love that too.
