As a mama to a 2-year old Shepherd mix, an “auntie” to a pack of six retrievers & labs, and a long-time cat lover, I am more than comfortable with all breeds of dog and cat, all sizes of animal, and even with larger numbers at one time. I grew up in Oregon and have lived in Portland for eight years, so I’m very familiar with the area and love to treat pups to their favorite activities. I grew up with cats into adulthood and have routinely assisted with cat care for friends and family. I am comfortable with all levels of friendliness, shyness, and some levels of special care (medicine, etc.). I have immense experience caring for dogs, even several at one time, and am comfortable working with small and large breeds of any kind. I have a 2-year old Shepherd mix who is friendly and good-natured, so if you are interested in socializing your dog on walks or at parks, I am happy to introduce them. I am comfortable working with both puppies and senior dogs, including some training tasks or special attention (administering medication, etc.).

OMG our dogs LOVE Kensie. We call her aunt Kens! They get more excited to see her when she comes over than they do when we come home. We've used Kensie for home visits and daily walks. We totally trust her with our furry family members. She's an animal lover and we highly recommend her.
Kensie has watched our cat, Stewart, on several occasions. Kensie is a reliable, loving and caring individual who has our full confidence in taking care of our pets. While Kensie has not watched our dogs yet, as we take them with us whenever possible, we expect the same level of service and compassion shown to Stewart. We highly recommend Kensie to anyone in need of a dog/cat watcher.
I highly recommend Kensie S as a dog walker/sitter! Kensie loved ALL animals. She has owned a couple of cats in the past and she showered them with attention, toys, affection, and kitty treats! Many years ago when she was between living situations, she lived with her aunts who had 3 dogs. Not only did Kensie love playing with them and taking them for walks, but even after she moved out she would go back and pick up the dogs to take on a hike or to the dog park. I have theee cats that Kensie sometimes checks on when I am out of town. My cats, who are generally skittish and run to hide when other people walk into our house, will come running to her when Kensie shows up. I swear that she is able to communicate with them. They appreciate the attention she gives them-lots of neck scratches and petting! Kensie is now a dog owner herself, and Penny (her dog) loves her pet mama! I promise that you will be happy with how Kensie treats and interacts with your pets!
Anytime we need to be out of town and can’t take the dogs with us Kensie is one of the first people we reach out to take care of them. They LOVE her! Kensie has walked the dogs when they needed more exercise than we we’re able to provide. Kensie shows up at the door and the dogs couldn’t be happier to see her. Kensie is thoughtful, responsible and considerate. We always feel confident and excited to see the dogs joy when they get to spend time together.

I have a friendly, adaptable 2-year old Shepherd mix who loves to play with her ball and occasionally join a game of chase at the dog park. She does great on off-leash trails, but I am diligent about keeping her and other dogs safe at non-off leash areas. For your pets, I will consider all special requests and needs for each animal (i.e. no/treats on walks, loves fetch at the park, not friendly with other dogs, needs snuggle time, etc.). While caring for your pet, they are my first priority.

A typical day
I love to treat your dog to their favorite activities. If they are friendly, social, and trust-worthy around other dogs, we can visit a park and play chase or fetch. If they are mild mannered and prefer a slower pace, a neighborhood stroll may be the ticket. And sometimes a good snuggle is all they need, and I have those readily available for your dog or cat.

I am a perfect candidate for spontaneous or last-minute Rover assistance! I have chunks of time on weekdays between shifts at my day job, and these bring me all over town to different neighborhoods. So I have great opportunities to drop in and check on pets or take them out for walks randomly or during the day, especially if you’re nearby!
