Fenced in Fun, Love, & Attention!

Pet care experience

I am an experienced sitter available to give full time attention and love to your pets while you're away! I have a sizable fenced in yard for your pups to really enjoy and get some great exercise during their stay. While they are here I treat them just like family and take pride in maintaining all the routines they are used to. I am certified in pet first aid and CPR through the American Red Cross and am always reading up on pet health and behavior. I also believe you really can teach old dogs new tricks - some dogs have even been known to return home knowing more tricks than they came with after a stay with me :) I love spending time with all animals and can’t wait to meet your furry best friend! Just a quick note about the percentage of photos I send through Rover for each stay: I do send photos for ALL stays. However, because some of these photos are sent directly to the parents of pups (via text message or via email) per their request, those photos sent are not included in the percentage of photos sent through Rover. Rest assured though, if you would like to see your pups while you're away, through Rover or otherwise, you most certainly will. :) For in-home boarding visits dogs must be fully house trained (young puppies and older dogs can be made the exception to this rule if needed with a potty plan in place), non-aggressive, and reasonably quiet. While they are here they will have full access to my fully fenced in backyard, an elementary school playground and open fields directly across the street. They will also have lovely walking trails throughout the woods and pond located directly at the end of the street (always leashed for their safety when not indoors or in the backyard). Why I love dog sitting I am a life long animal lover- I grew up rescuing & rehabilitating abandoned cats. Now I am a full time dog walker & pet sitter working in the Attleboro, Rehoboth, Seekonk, & northern RI areas. I am pet CPR and both cat and dog first aid certified through the American Red Cross. Meet my pets I do not have indoor pets of my own making my duplex apartment the perfect place for your pets to really take over and make it their own during their stay! I do have six chickens that live outside though! Their coop and run are fenced in, making them inaccessible to your pets during play time in the back yard. In my experience, most dogs are curious and intrigued by the girls at first but quickly lose interest when they realize they won't be coming out to play. About my yard I have a fully fenced in back yard, approximately 65 ft. x 50 ft. It is wide open with a few seating areas. There are raised vegetable garden in the middle, and a recent addition of a shed in the back corner. Still plenty of room for fun and play! The perfect space for running and fetch. My experience administering medication I am comfortable administering medication. I have experience administering medication to cats (my own in the past as well as at the Attleboro Animal Shelter) and to dogs. I am comfortable pilling, liquid medications, drops, and using any topical medications as required.

This was Charli's third summer 2 week stay with Kendra and we couldn't be happier or more grateful to have found such a wonderful loving pet care provider! Her pictures say it all. Not sure who had the better vacation, Charli or us!

Kendra is an absolute gem! She made our time away so enjoyable because we knew we could relax with her at the house. This was our first time using her and we hope to use her again. She was prompt with communication and very thorough with instructions. You can tell she is a professional. From the moment the dogs met her, you could tell they loved her. She has such a good way with them. For this neurotic/anxious dog mom, Kendra was just amazing. We received text updates per our requests and were able to touch base throughout the trip, which kept our anxieties at bay. I can't recommend her highly enough. You won't find a more professional, caring, or kind sitter around!

Information Kendra P. would like to know about your pet

For potential travel sitting clients (in your home overnights or dog walking/pet & house sitting): Before sitting for your dog(s), cat(s), or other pets I would like to know a few things: 1. General expectations and requirements for the duration of my overnight stay or for their individual visits to your home for general care or walks. Amount of exercise required, medications required, eating & bathroom habits and schedule, crating habits, and overall routines are all things that are good to know. The location of their things is also important (i.e. where to find food, leashes, etc.) 2. Are your animals generally well behaved? Do they get along with other animals/with each other? Are they possibly food aggressive? Have a tendency to have accidents? What sort of tricks do they know or need to work on? Additional things such as where to put daily mail, indoor plant needs, etc. are also all good to know ahead of time. For potential overnight home-boarding clients: Before sitting for your dog in order to ensure that my home is the best place for your dog(s) to stay I will first need to know a few things: 1. The size of your dog(s) - I am open to accommodating multiple dogs at a time, however I may not be able to take some dogs at times in order to ensure that everyone is as comfortable as can be. For example, I would be unable to take 4 x-large dogs at one time due to limited space but I may be able to take 1-2 large dogs and 1-2 medium to smaller dogs at one time. Every dog is stay is considered on a case by case basis. This includes considerations to their size, individual personalities, and their general needs. I do not have any breed preferences. 2. Is your dog generally well behaved (non-destructive) and friendly with other dogs? Tell me about their personality! I love to know those little quirks ahead of time so I know what to expect and how to best make them feel at home :) 3. Vet contact information and an up to date vaccine history on the following vaccines (copies of these too): *Distemper combo & Kennel cough (a.k.a Bordetella) *Rabies This is to make sure that everyone is safe - people and pups included! :) All dogs must also be spayed/neutered if they will be staying with and encountering other dogs. Some exceptions may be made to this rule which we can discuss further is needed. 4. General expectations and requirements for their stay: Amount of exercise required, medications required, eating, bathroom, crating habits, etc.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Your dogs will have full access to my fenced in backyard during their stay. In addition to this, there is a woods just down the street complete with trails and a lovely river running through it to take your dog(s) on daily hikes. If your dog is happy to take car rides and well behaved I can also take them with me to other the local nature reserves etc. Your dog's sleeping arrangement I like to make your dog's stay as comfortable and as smooth a transition as possible. Whether your dog is used to being crated or snuggled up to you for bedtime at your home, I will continue whatever routine they are used to here. Time I'll spend with your dog I work based out of my home so your dog(s) will never be alone for more than 2-3 hours at a time. Your dog(s) will never be left alone for longer this time, and will never be alone overnight. When I am away I am visiting other pet clients to take them for walks, feeding them, administering medication as needed, reinforcing and teaching commands, and just giving plain love and attention just like I will do for your dogs! Time I'll spend with your dog For multiple overnight clients, your home will be visited at least once during the day to spend time with your animals, take them on a walk, and to give them a bathroom break. Exact overnight arrival and departure times can be discussed for both single overnight and multiple overnights but once I am 'home' for the night, I will stay there until the next morning to tend to your particular animals needs both morning and night. For dog walking clients/cat sitting clients we can discuss the length of walk(s)/ number of visit(s) you would like per day on an individual basis. Anything from quick fifteen minute bathroom break, meds, and feeding visits to hour long exercise visits are possible (rates may need to be adjusted accordingly). Extra house-sitting services I am more than willing to take on additional simple tasks while you are away from home. In fact, I would actually recommend that daily and weekly household things like taking in the mail and taking out the trash and recycling continue as they would normally for security purposes. That way, no one is alerted to the fact that your house is not fully occupied as normal.
