I’m a writer and dog rescuer with a particular love of big dogs: pit bulls, mastiffs, Rottweilers, etc. I have so many friends that have asked for advice on finding a sitter or walker, I decided to create an account and offer my services. My books include The Dogs Who Found Me, I’m a Good Dog and City of Dogs.

Ken was very patient meeting my dog for the first time and they spent a very chill evening together. He communicated well and gave updates while he was dog sitting.
We hadn't left our dogs for more than a few hours in a very long time, so we were nervous about using a sitter. Ken was fantastic and put all of our concerns at ease. He sent me photo updates throughout the weekend and we came home to two happy, well taken care of pups. We would happily hire Ken again.

I have a multiple dog household, so my own pets are comfortable in their crates and in small playgroups in the yard together. When caring for a pet in their own home, I follow the rules and also make sure there aren’t any hazards during our time together and when I leave.

Because of my work in animal rescue, I’ve had experience dealing with all sorts of medical issues or “odd” habits. It is good to know what to expect ahead of time, so I have a good reading of how the dog is feeling what what their needs might be while you are away.
A typical day
Different dogs are interested in different kinds of activities, so even with my own dogs I pay attention to whether they prefer a long walk, play with a toy, or investigating a new spot.

Availability
Currently most of my work is done remotely, so my schedule is somewhat flexible for assignments in range of my own home. I can travel by car if the distance isn’t walkable.
