animal play partner, fun, and sweet

Pet care experience

My name is Kelsey, and my history with dogs is that I've grown up with dogs all throughout my life. I have pet sit for friends and family and for people since I was about 13 years old. I love animals and have experience working with dogs and training dogs on correctional behavior and basic obedience. I currently own 5 pets. 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 horse. I have worked in a few different Kennels, such as Ruff Ranch in Buda and Big Oaks Kennel and Dog Park in Buda. Always handy when needed for any type of get away from the store, to a Florida beach vacation. I would want to help you out because I have a knack for animals, any person that has come to me with a troubled dog has seen an impressive turnover of the dog and the aggression it has. I used to be a foster parent and fostered a dog who was troubled with men and had horrible leash manners, and by the time I was finished with him, he was able to walk by your side without a fuss. I love giving company and being with animals and I would like to make it a full time thing if it came down to it. I'm more of an animal person anyways and adore spending time with other people's pets too. They love the attention, and I love the wagging and licking in return! Currently I don't have a full time job, so my schedule is pretty flexible! So I will have enough time to get home and snuggle up with your purrfectly pawsome pets!Currently I am a Contract Worker for my Mother, but its only at 3 or 4 hours at max. I can house train your dog if needed, and maybe teach your dog a thing or two about barking at the door or even just simply jumping up on people. When taking care of your animals I follow any and all instructions that you will leave me. I would make sure the dog goes outside the moment I would come in the door, I would make sure the dog would go outside the moment they would wake up, and I will take them out often and can even make sure they go potty before going to bed :). Each time I've house sat and pet sat for someone they would always call me back to do it again because they love how the dog acts when they return, and love that the dogs always love me coming back for their company. I also have experience with exotic animals from guinea pigs to snakes and rats and rabbits. I used to own bearded dragons but then had to sell them eventually due to me moving out and into a place that wasn't reptile friendly. Our Horse is 7 years old and is a solid paint. She has a bit of a temper but is always the first one to greet you if the dog hasn't done it yet. I've had her for 5 years and have been breaking her on my own. The oldest dog has lab in her so she can be friendly and pretty calm with any dog that comes around we got her when she was 5 months old and rescued her on the side of the road by a busy highway, tried taking her to a shelter but she didn't have a microchip, or tags, so we ended up with the beginning of completion for our little family. Missy is now one of the HAPPIEST dogs on Earth and is the CALMEST dog We've ever owned. The other dog, Rango, is an Aussie. He is a year old younger than Missy. He's full of energy and love, he was an anniversary gift from my husband and he is my ESA (Emotional Support Animal) he helps with my husband having PTSD and he helps my anxiety. He thinks the world is his friend, and definitely struts himself to show it. Hes a blast to have and never leaves your side except for the occasion that he gets too hot from body temp. Our cat, Yakko, was a rescue, abandoned in a box at 5 weeks old in front of our apartment building in the smoldering heat in June of 2016, he has now grown up to be THE MOST friendliest cat I've EVER owned! He is extremely playful and can really strike up a game of cat and mouse.....or really, cat and dog. All three of them get along so well and it warms my heart. Then we have our little youngest kitty named Wakko (Wakkorino/Baby Kitty), if you havent noticed yet, we named our kitties after the Warner Bros. from Animaniacs. He is probably as fun and cuddly as a cat can get without becoming a dog (even though he doesnt realize he's not a dog, but we let him think he is, because why not). He's a domestic medium hair and will greet you at the door and come join you in the restroom. A very laid back cat and has no issue if you want to curl up with a book, as long as you leave space for him to join on your lap. Hopefully I will hear from you soon! Can't wait to meet your FURR-maily!!

Kelsey was AMAZING. She took great care of my Piggy and did not skip a beat. When I got home my Hamlet was happy, and healthy and all was perfect. Thank you!

Kelsey is very timely and communicative. We loved getting pictures of bear while in her care. He didn’t want her to go, he loved her so much.

Kelsey was AMAZING! I have found our pet setter for every trip! She texted if she had questions and simply went above and beyond in caring for our animals!

Information Kelsey W. would like to know about your pet

Before I do a sit with clients and guests, I would like to always have a meet and greet before. I understand when it is an emergency and will always be lenient with last minute stays. I don't exactly have a preference on breeds. As long as the dog likes me and i like them, then there will not be any problems.

A typical day

On walks we would go to the park, to play ball or just simply walk around the neighborhood and enjoy a simple stroll. If there is a ball that the dog likes to play with while on the walk, I wouldn't mind bringing it along and having a few tosses. I like to take care of your dog as if it was my own dog, I will trim their nails for you and give them medications when needed and will take all types of photos that you would want, both from my phone and Canon!
