Pet care experience
Hi! I’m Kelsey Thigpen. I grew up on a farm in Georgia and have been surrounded by four legged critters my entire life. I was raised around multiple dogs, cats, horses, and various farm animals. I aspire to be a veterinarian and have graduated from UGA with a biological science degree. I have FOUR years of veterinarian experience and I currently work in a vets office full time. I can administer oral medications, as well as injections, if you have a diabetic pup. I have grooming and basic obedience experience and love walking owners through common training misconceptions and body language queues from our dogs. I am confident with “unruly” or anxious dogs and can confidently handle large and small dogs alike. I can’t wait to get to know your pup!
Reviews
Kelsey was great! She communicated well both before and during the stay and kept us up to date on how the pups were doing. She made sure to give them lots of attention, walks and treats. One of our dogs requires multiple eye drops multiple times a day as well as cleaning of her eyes and Kelsey did a great job at taking care of this. We will definitely have Kelsey back!
Second time we've had Kelsey take care of our house and pets. She is very nice and seems to really like the animals - and they like her. Her vet experience is a plus.
I am absolutely amazed at how much I appreciate Kelsey's care for Britain. Her roommates were also fabulous whom are involved with Rover. Not only are they vets which tremendously aided in the type of care provided, she was extra attentive to my pets needs, my standards and requirements. Consistent communication, pictures and letting me know of their whereabouts even after I grew more comforted in her ability. My dog has almost severe allergens and although loves to play and definitely active, can cause irritation and discomfort for him. She remained aware if his needs, applying additional aid, bathed and medicated him as needed(with my permission of course). Yet, to go the extra steps and make sure he was well adjusted, cuddled, and to see him look and be so happy was such a relief for me. She expressed how sad she was to see him go ??. Thank you so much for the peace of mind and for your roommates pitching in to do the same just to be welcoming.
Kept me updated & sended me pictures of Shadow! Also trained him on a prong collar to stop his pulling habit & now Shadow walks perfectly without any pulling. Super recommend

Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I try to give as much stimulation as possible while dropping in, or house sitting. I tend to play fun games and do basic training to stimulate your pups mind while you are away. I always clean up any messes, tidy the home, and sweep up the tumble weeds of dog hair that inevitably come with our furry friends. I am very respectful of each home I am allowed to enter and try to leave it better than I found it.

Information Kelsey T. would like to know about your pet
All breeds are welcomed. I would like to know about possible food aggression, storm or noise anxiety, triggers, and the general attitude and behavior of your pup.
A typical day
I take my dog duke on daily walks around my neighborhood. We adventure out to Sandy creek dog park, and Ben Burton for hikes a few times per week. I tend to stay away from crowded dog parks, because I feel they can cause more anxiety and bad behaviors to erupt, as other dogs might not display the best manners in that environment. I tend to take each of my boarders on a “sniff walk,” in which I allow them to lead the walk and sniff at their own leisure, as it is very good for their mental stimulation. Any special requests for activities and locations your pup loves will be taken into consideration!
