Before grad school, I had always lived in a house with dogs. During my time in grad school, I would often travel by plane (from South Carolina to Boston), so I resisted the urge to get a dog. Fortunately, many of my friends in Clemson have had dogs so I would get to dog sit when my friends have left town, and I became the go-to dog sitter for the graduate students in the economics department. I've recently moved to Boston to finish my degree remotely. I have a very flexible schedule, and I work from home every day. My fiance and I currently have two indoor cats who have spent a lot of time with my parents' dogs (English setters) and a friend's golden retriever.
