I volunteered for two years at the Humane Society in my hometown. It was a very heart-warming experience. As well as, heart-wrenching. I am a serious dog-lover and I wanted to help every single dog that came into the operation. I learned a lot of things through that experience though. Such as: how to deal with all different types of dogs ( old, young, low energy, high energy, etc.), how to administer medicine, and generally just how to become a better dog loving person!
