Your pet will get all the love and attention they need, as well as the special needs such as dietary and medical that your pet may require while they live as part of our family. You can feel safe in knowing your pets are being loved and cared for by someone who has experience with dog behavior and veterinary care, and I send regular updates with pictures of your pet's stay so you can be assured that your pet is doing well. I utilize safe boarding techniques that I have learned while working in a prestigious boarding and training facility and veterinary clinics. Techniques such as slow introduction between dogs, use of dog gates, treats, patience, how to read dog body language, keeping dogs separated when unsupervised, always positive reinforcement, and others. Your dog is never "locked up" or kenneled, and stay in my welcoming home as if it were their own. Your dog can sleep wherever they are most comfortable, whether that be a fluffy dog bed, the floor, the couch, or a crate if that is what they prefer. Most breeds and personalities are accepted. I only allow 2 to 3 boarding animals at the same time so all of the animals get all the attention they need. I can also do grooming while your pet is here. With any stay of 3 nights or more, I include a bath and a nail trim. If you would like any grooming for a stay less then 3 nights, it would be an additional cost. I can do pretty much anything, bathing, brushing, deshedding, ear cleanings, nail trimming, anal glands, etc. Requirements for your pet's stay: They must be current on all vaccinations for their own protection. Flea control to keep a flea-free environment. Vet and emergency contact information for in case there is an emergency. All foods your pet will eat during their stay. Special care and meal instructions. Any special bedding, crate, or toys your pet may like to make their stay more comfortable. About this sitter: I am Kelsey, I'm 28, married, and I work at a veterinary clinic as a vet tech and kennel tech, as well as attend college part time to become a licensed vet tech. I have vet, grooming, and boarding experience. I am not a dog trainer, however I have worked for a reputable trainer and dog boarder in the past, and was in charge of watching doggy play time where anywhere from 3 to 15 dogs would be roaming the yard together at once. I am from Baytown, Tx, but currently live in Magnolia, Texas with my husband Ron, our dog Piper and our cat Todd. For fun we like to go swimming just about anywhere. go bike riding/urban mushing, camping, hiking, and being lazy around the house watching TV. Also we LOVE animals, just name an animal and we probably have experience with them (dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, gerbils, ferrets, chinchillas, lizards, snakes, chickens, ducks, fish, and I'm sure there are more I can't remember right now.) Why I love dog sitting I have loved dogs my whole life. I grew up with a Sheltie named Lady, in my adult life I have had 2 dogs, River was a Husky/Malamute mix, and Piper is a German Shepherd/Husky mix. All of my friends and family my entire life has had dogs. My grandfather trained hunting labs, my mom and sister have Shelties, my mom also has a poodle, my dad has a pit bull and a Schnauzer mix, my best friend has a Dachshund, and my In-Laws have 3 rescue mix breed dogs, and all of my aunts, uncles and cousins have pets too. I have always been surrounded by animals. Meet my pets My dog is a 5 year old, 60lb, spayed husky/german shepherd mix dog named Piper, and we also have very dog friendly cat named Todd who thinks he is really a dog.
