I am a pet-loving PhD student who’s always looking for an excuse to step away from the computer. I am a proud cat mom and grew up with both cats and dogs. With over 15 years of experience caring for pets for friends and colleagues, and and now professionally with Rover, your fur baby will be in good hands with me.

Kelsey has watched our cats for us a couple times now and is kind, accommodating, and responds quickly. She did daily drop in visits for our cats for a week and was very helpful when the cats decided to be trouble makers with their water. We trust her with our pets and home.

I primarily offer drop-in visits for cats because they’re more amenable to my schedule. With my own cat, he calls the shots. I pay close attention to his mood and mannerisms so that he always feels comfortable. With new cats, I build trust by doing the same: paying attention and letting them come to me when they’re ready.

Please let me know if your dog or cat has any behaviors that I should be aware of in advance! What's the best way to gain trust with your pet? Are they treat-motivated? Will they get ornery if they don't get enough play time?
A typical day
When I'm checking in on cats, I first take care of their immediate needs (food, water, litter, etc). If they're interested we'll have some playtime and a little photoshoot. For those who seem to needs bit more company, I like to bring my laptop to do some light work so that they have someone to hang with while their people are away. When working with dogs, I love to make sure that they are stimulated. We'll likely end up at a park where there are lots of interesting things to sniff, with lots of games and opportunities to learn a new trick. I also try to take lots of opportunities to teach dogs how to behave on walks so that it's a great experience for both of us!

I have a demanding but flexible (and mostly self-determined) work schedule. I strive for a consistent 8 to 5 workflow for myself on the weekdays, but I’m happy to work with you to meet your needs.
