About me: I am playful, detail oriented and animal-loving. I aim to connect with and improve the situation for all of the animals under my care. With my life-long involvement with animals, I have gained a deep understanding of the language our pets use to communicate with us and emphasize the importance of mental well-being and anxiety prevention in the absence, however temporary, of a pet's primary caretaker. I am available to feed, walk, play, and give your furry family my full attention when you aren't able to.

Kelsey was really great at caring for Zero. She didn’t just look after him during his stay but took care of him! He had such a great time with her which I could tell from his body language in pictures being all curled up next to her inside or looking pleased while out walking. I do think that’s why he was so excited to see me when I picked him up so he can tell me all about his stay with Ms Kelsey! Thank you so much Kelsey for looking after my fur baby!

This girl here is the best she went above and beyond to make sure that Brownies Overnight experience with her was amazing. She kept me posted with what my dog was doing and she would send us pictures, my dog looked happy and comfortable during her stay. If we can give her 1 million stars we would. The Rodriguez family really appreciate everything you’ve done for us and we look forward to you watching Miss Brownie first part of June for a week. She is definitely highly recommended and we are definitely going to be returning clients.

Kelsey went above and beyond taking care of our dog Rufus while we were on vacation! She is mature, reliable, and a great communicator. It was our first time leaving Rufus overnight and we felt so comfortable knowing Kelsey was coming by to walk him and take care of him. She sent us photos and updates for each visit. We adopted Rufus a few years ago and he is very shy and sensitive around new people. Kelsey was patient, gentle, and never gave up in building up his trust! She truly has a gift with connecting to animals and we were amazed by the relationship she built with him in such a short time. Kelsey- thanks again for taking such good care of our goofy boy!

Safety, trust & environment

I am currently available for drop-offs/ pickups in Kansas City, KS, at an apartment that I share with my sister, and in Pleasant Hill, MO where my partner and I live (when he is in town). As long as the road conditions are optimal, I most often will take animals to the Pleasant Hill location so that they can enjoy a little more space indoors (unless you request otherwise or I need to stay close to KC for work). I always require pets to be on a leash when outdoors, even in a fenced area like our backyard. I will also put animals into crates if I am not able to directly supervise them. I know that some animals are not accustomed to being in a kennel, but animals that are in a new environment will often take to being in a kennel much better than they do at home as it feels like a more secure environment to them. I do this for your pet's safety as well as to reduce any damages to my home. Early in my sitting career, despite all of the precautions I can take to ensure a safe environment, I had a dog eat a section of my wall while I was in the shower. After a very tearful trip to the emergency vet, this is a policy that I no longer waiver on as pets can behave very unpredictably in new situations. During the pandemic, I will no longer be able to accommodate tours of either home as I have a little one on the way and have to be extra careful with exposure to new individuals. I will still be doing meet & greets upon request! They can be done at my home (outdoors) or at your home and I will wear a mask. I am vaccinated for COVID and the flu.

Information Kelsey D. would like to know about your pet

If your animal will be staying with me or I will be doing drop-in visits/ walks, I will have a form to send to you that will request all of the information that I will need regarding their health, personality, and routine. If there is any other information that you would like to share, I always appreciate it.

A typical day

I love spending time outside with the dogs that are under my care! We will go for plenty of walks and visit the local parks as often as possible. I am also a huge fan of snuggles and playtime!
