IF YOU TRULY CARE FOR YOUR ANIMALS DO NOT CHOOSE KELSEY SHE ABANDONED MINE IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS of an agreed 6 night and 7 day over night dog sitting!!!!!’ Kelsey was hired months in advance to stay at our home and care for our three animals for a family Christmas vacation up at Big Bear. Family came in from all over and a large amount of expensive was put in to this trip so we needed someone we could trust. I met her months prior to the dates needed and walked her through all the needs of our animals including how they get separation anxiety. She was to stay for 7 days 6 nights in our home. Kelsey agreed to this and quoted $333. Time came close so I contacted her to come by one more time to see feeding time and walk back through everything. She agreed to meet then canceled the pre meeting the night before we had to leave. I set her up to meet with a friend of the family the next day as we were leaving. I left a written three page note on the refrigerator and several numbers to call for emergencies. Again agreement was she remained at my home the entire time but is now one less day into the agreement. She showed the next day in the morning to meet our friend. He had to go catch an flight and leave by 0800. He walked her through everything and left. She text me stating she met him but was going back to her home and would go back to my home later. AGREEMENT WAS TO REMAIN WITH MY ANIMALS THE ENTIRE TIME!!! She showed later that morning and began texting a few pictures through the day. As the day progresses she noticed one of my little ones really is sad and missing us. HOWEVER, she did nothing to comfort him. At 0100 she began texting me that same dog would not stay in bed was whining and running to the door and the other two pups were following him and barking at the door. I told her he probably needs to potty. She was upset as he was interrupting her sleep. We finally called her at 0138 AM after several text stating he was still whining and would not stay in bed. Kelsey answered and sounded out of it though oddly, none of my dogs were barking in the background as she claimed. I told her how to calm him down and asked again did he potty? she claimed yes I took them out. At 0300 I receive a text from Kelsey., “Hey, I won’t be able to watch the dogs. Hopefully Dave can. I’ll come later if you need them to be fed and let out I’m going to start your refund on rover right now.” AGAIN AGREEMENT WAS REMAIN WITH MY ANIMALS THE ENTIRE TIME!!!!!! So here we are Christmas Eve she ABANDONED my animals. We are up on the mountain a storm had just hit and require chains to get down. My husband gets up at 0600 packs and now will NOT be able to spend Christmas with the family due to Kelsey’s LACK of animal care skills and complete neglect of my dogs leaving us high and dry after staying less than 24 hours with my pups and with no alternatives to care for them after all it IS CHRISTMAS!!! I was VERY clear my dogs could not be left alone over night. This was VERY IRRESPONSIBLE and HORRIBLE to pull on a client. My husband left and will miss Christmas because Kelsey who CLAIMS to be a dog care specialist couldn’t handle my dogs keeping her up. A dog whines for three reasons they have to potty, they are hungry, or they are scared/hurt. She made no attempt to comfort them and admitted the one that had been whinny she hadn’t made any attempt to bond with him. Instead she got upset and ABANDONED my animals which were already suffering from separation anxiety!!!!!!!!! My husband now leaving on Christmas Eve paying over $400 for chains and the cost of gas to come back and get me at the end of a trip he couldn’t stay for due to her COMPLETE IRRESPONSIBLE actions. My husband arrives at our home 4-5 hours after she left and finds the dog that was whining had pooped and peed in the house. They were so exhausted that they didn’t even wake up when he entered the house so obviously traumatized by her actions. Please note all three are rescues that were previously abandoned >:( To top it off she charged me 1/3 of the cost quoted for 7 days six nights and managed caring for my animals LESS than 24 hours. I’m BEYOND FURIOUS. MORAL OF THE STORY: IF YOU WANT SOMEONE TO CHARGE YOU FOR TOME THEY DID CARE FOR YOUR DOGS, IGNORE AND ABANDON YOUR DOGS, KELSEY IS YOUR GIRL!
