I have been doing this for both friends and as a paid service on and off for about 16 years. I believe that understanding your pet's daily routine, and honoring that as closely as possible is the best way to build a strong relationship based on stability and trust. Animals that I am accustomed to caring for: cats and dogs of all ages, reptiles, fish, rodents, and small birds. I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes, and have been lucky enough to own a Pitbull mix, a black Lab, a Shiba Inu/German Shepherd mix, a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix, and a Maltese/Shih Tzu mix over the years. I have 2 cats of my own currently, and am a full-time Foster Cat Mom for a local non-profit animal rescue. I would love to bring the same level of love and care to your pets. While this is not my full-time job, I am a consultant for education, arts, and culture institutions, and this allows me a flexible schedule on both weekdays and weekends. I have my own vehicle and am very comfortable with the DC metro system, so I am easily able to commute to various locations. I am able to provide references upon request for previous cat and dog clients.
