I am a newly married stay at home wife and, while I wait for a puppy of my own, I would love to care for your furry loved one! I have four years experience as a vet assistant & kennel assistant caring for a wide range of animals (including birds and exotic reptiles!). While I don't have an official Pet CPR certification, I have actually practiced pet CPR as part of my Vet assistant job. (I once did CPR for almost an hour to revive a beagle that crashed during emergency surgery! He went on to live a happy life <3 ) I have also used the Heimlich maneuver on a dog, administered shots, cleaned ears, treated wounds, and in general I am very attentive to health issues in the pets I watch. Growing up around large breed dogs - my parents are responsible Great Dane Breeders - I have am very comfortable around dogs of all sizes from 5lbs to 250lbs! I hope to own a Golden Retriever in the near future and train her for Therapy work. I am very comfortable with basic and intermediate dog training from handling & training dogs. My home includes a regular supervised access to my large fenced back yard, along with play time, and relaxation time. I prefer dogs to be crate trained for overnight stays as I have two large cats that are allowed downstairs at night to play. I believe there are teachable moments all the time and prefer to do small training "spots" throughout the day. It's not just about exercising a dog's body but also their mind!
