Pet care experience
An animal lover from an early age, I love dogs of all ages and breeds. My first 'job' was a dog walker. I was probably 8 and I would stop at the neighbor's house after school and ask to walk their Pekingese, CiCi. I wanted a dog so badly! Finally, after all that dog walking, I got my first dog when I was 10. Her name was Domino, and she was a German Short-haired Pointer. From then on there were always animals in my life - dogs, cats, horses, ferrets, hamsters, birds, hermit crabs... As a teen I would alternate between babysitting the neighborhood children and the neighborhood pets. I have been a vet tech, and even had the opportunity to volunteer at the Smithsonian National Zoo in DC. Amazing experiences learning about animals! Knowing how I'd want my pets to be cared for gives me insight as to what level of attention I'd give every animal in my care. Trust that your pet(s) will receive the highest level of care and be safe & comfy with this animal lover! I thank you in advance, and appreciate your patience with initial response times! At times, I am just not able to be on a phone and will get back to you once I’ve checked your needs and my schedule!
Reviews
Kelly is wonderful - she’s helped us multiple times and we’ll continue to use her in the future! Thanks, Kelly!
Kelly was really great with our cats. Appreciated the daily updates and pics. She always let us know if her schedule changed a little so we wouldn't worry. Our kitties were calm and happy and healthy when we got back, so we were happy too!
I really appreciated Kelly coming out to walk my dog despite the rain!
Kelly was great to work with and extremely accommodating. I booked her for a weekend but one of my cats got ill and I had to cancel for all but one day. She was very understanding and came over for the one day and did a great job! I would recommend her without hesitation.

Please tell me more about your pet and how you want me to care for them at our meet and greet. :) I’d like to make sure I am doing my best to make them feel at home so that all parties are comfortable when leaving your pet!
Information Kelly H. would like to know about your pet
Prior to any visit, I prefer a quick meet and greet. I really enjoy the meet and greets to get to know a bit about you and your pets, as well as you getting the chance to get to know me. I would like to know about any routines or preferences that your dog may have, including any instructions for medications, feeding, treats, etc. We can discuss any questions and make sure we are on the same page. I know how important routine is for most dogs, and want to provide as much continuity and love for them as I can while you're away. BOARDING INFO: I love all breeds, but to be a good fit in my home I prefer that your pup is good with other dogs (big and small), current on all shots, neutered, treated with flea/tick prevention and for heartworm as well. I'd prefer also that your dog be okay sleeping in a comfy, bedded crate at night. This is not a must and we can adjust to your dog's needs. I'm not against them on furniture or my bed, especially if that's what they do at home. There will be plenty of options for safe and comfy areas for all.
A typical day
DOG WALKING: Depending on age and activity level, we will go on a brisk walk, or a walk with some playtime built in. Pets and affection are a given! DROP INS: CATS: As directed by owner. DOGS: Depending on owner preference, I'll feed the dogs first and then let them outside for a bathroom and play break, or vice versa. Many times, it's food, potty breaks, come in for water, and then back outside for playtime. With input from owners and seeing the dogs needs while visiting, I try to prioritize the animals immediate needs. BOARDING: If boarding they will have at least 3 daily walks in my neighborhood. Exercise for the both of us; a plus! Sleep arrangements would preferably be a crate overnight (or if i had to run out for a short trip) but this could be adjusted according to each dog's needs. This ensures your dog's safety. I will be home a majority of the time and the longest I'd be gone would be 2-3 hours at any time. I can care for puppies and senior dogs, administer oral, injected, and topical medication, and reinforce basic training.
