I started caring for dogs when I was 14 years old. I cared for my neighbor's 8 year old Basset Hound. He was a stubborn but amazingly lovable dog. He would dig his feet in and try to not walk. He would lay on the bed with his head down so I couldn't get his collar on. He'd even growl bc he didn't wanna walk. I trained him with treats and patience and took care of him until I was 18 and he died. In 2017, when I was 21, I adopted a pit bull named Ivy. Ivy was the most kind and gentle thing ever, but she was abused by her last owners and was extremely anxious. She would hide and would flinch if you moved to fast. With patience and love, I was able to rehabilitate her so that she felt confident around us. At the same time, I've worked with cats my whole life. I have a 13 year old cat named Bingo and I care for him daily. I also had a cat named Georgia who was a blue tabby and was so sweet. I've worked with "mean" or "aggressive" cats. I don't mind being bit or clawed at. With cats, it's all about patience and trust.
