We'll treat your pup like our own!

Pet care experience

I've grown up with dogs all of my life. My family has had everything from a 7 lb. miniature dachshund to a 140 lb. great dane! Our big dog is very playful and immediately wants to play with every dog she meets! But if your dog isn't playful, she'll learn quickly and won't try to play with them.

Kelly is terrific. She is friendly, kind and enthusiastic. She is great with dogs, relaxed but in charge and she is very transparent about rules and requirements. She send us a number of pictures that showed our dog Augie relaxing and enjoying himself. We recommend her highly.

Kelly took amazing care of Archie! He had so much fun playing with her dogs. She always kept me updated, sending photos or videos often. We know that Archie is well taken care of with Kelly and her family. We are so glad we found them!

I have a hard time leaving Digby for any period of time, but Kelly made that load much lighter on me. Great communication and pictures and kept Digby happy and active! Highly recommended.

Our dog enjoyed her stay so much that I think she was a little disappointed when I came to bring her back home. It was super easy working with Kelly about our dog’s care needs, and Kelly kept us regularly updated with our dog’s activity. We’d be happy to arrange another stay with Kelly when we head out of town again!

Safety, trust & environment

Meal times: We feed our dogs in the morning and in the early evening. Set feeding times helps to make sure everyone is eating their own food (good for food sensitivities or allergies) and reduces risk of fights over food. I usually sit down on the floor with our visiting dog, which helps me to fend off our dogs if they finish eating quickly and want to steal the new dog's food! But I also find that many dogs are shy to eat in another dog's home, so we typically feed them in separate rooms to reduce any meal time anxiety. Leaving the house: We always separate our dogs from the visiting dog when we leave our house. The visiting dog is put in a crate in a closed room with calming music playing and given lots of pets and "good puppy!" before we leave. We prefer crate trained dogs because we've had problems with visiting dogs destroying our belongings when left in a room without a crate. We have a small crate and a large crate, so you don't need to bring yours unless you want to! Outside time: We have a fenced-in yard for potty breaks and play time. We also live in a residential area with a green space, so taking walks with the pups is very easy!

Information Kelly C. would like to know about your pet

Please let us know if your dog has shown aggression toward other dogs. The safety of the dogs is our number one priority. We have a 60 lb. dog that *loves* to play, so please let us know if you think your dog might not play well with her. (All breeds welcome - but please, no aggressive dogs)

A typical day

We live in a residential area near a park. We'll make sure that your dog gets as much exercise as they need every day. If your dog is really playful, our bigger dog loves to play with any sized dog. But if your pup just wants to relax, we usually just like to hang out on the couch!

My husband and I both work hybrid, so we switch off days in the office. Pending exceptional circumstances, one of us will be home each day of the week. When we're both out of the house, we do crate the visiting dog to ensure that everyone is safe and nothing gets damaged.
