When I care for your dog it means I create a happy, safe, loving and fun place for your pet when you are not able to be with them. You will be worry free. I always say, your dog will be on ‘vacation’. Because like humans, we love going on vacation but we still look forward to getting back home. This is the experience I want to create for your pet! Because I do not take several pets at one time, I am able to give your pet individualized attention. I also have fostered dogs in S. Texas for the last 10 years and I have had very ill, hurt, emotionally damaged animals who recover in my care and are adopted to the best homes. I have many references I can provide you that will attest to my ability and just how much these people trust me with their fur babies. I can also administer medications, change dressings, etc. if needed. Because I work part-time from my home, I am able to regularly walk your dog, give potty breaks as necessary, show much love to your dog, and keep it safe at all times. I am generally home much of the time with the exception of errands and some exercise. I am flexible with the schedule and can accommodate your schedule as needed. But please note: boarding rates are based on a 24 hour period. Hours in excess of 24 may be charged at an additional "day care" rate. I have a good sized fenced yard but can also take your pet for regular walks. Because the yard is fenced, your pet can roam free in the yard for some fresh air and/or investigating for short periods (weather permitting). The house is generally quiet with only my husband and I, but I do have a cat, therefore, your pet must be OK with cats (or learn to be OK). I can keep the cat and dog separated as I have a 2 story home. My cat doesn't approach dogs but if the dog is friendly or ignores the cat, the cat will just do the same. I do have dog beds available for resting/sleeping. The house is orderly/uncluttered so it is a safe place for a pet to be. I have had many fosters over the years who have spent up to 8 months with me and they have all felt extremely comfortable here. And when they come back for a visit or dogsitting, it's like they had never left. I also send pictures and/or video during your pet's stay so you are informed about his/her day. NOTE: I do not take multiple dogs at one time unless they are friendly with others or they come from the same family. I prefer to give individualized attention to the pets I care for and try to avoid issues with multiple dogs may not get along. Occasionally, I do recieve multiple pets from one family but generally I sit for one (or two) pets at a time, as long as I know they will interact positively. To date, this has worked out very well. With that said, I have a few REGULAR clients (from before I started Rover and after) that I sit for monthly which is why my profile shows few repeat customers.
