Veterinary Assistant
Pet care experience
Hello! I am a local vet assistant of 3 years; I am very knowledgeable in caring for dogs of many sizes, breeds, ages, and temperaments. I have training from classes at Penn State bachelor's degree in Animal Science, internships at various dog training facilities in the nation, and my current education to become a veterinary technician. I was also the daycare manager/van driver for the Royal Pet Resort, so I have experience with many dogs in a group setting as well. As a vet assistant I can medicate animals of many ages and temperaments in many different techniques including medicating via "piller,"and giving oral medications manually in a very stress-free fashion, injections in any route of administration (intramuscular, subcutaneous, intravenous), and I know how to properly carry animals up to 50 pounds without any struggle (so I can help any of those older buddies).
Reviews
Kelly has been the most reliable, attentive, and personal caregiver for my pets. She invests in them personally and develops a relationships o that I feel comfortable and confident when leaving my pets in her care. I found Kelly on a pet care website and she stood out among other applicants as qualified and intentional in her desire to provide quality care. I highly recommend her and will continue to work with Kelly in the future.
I feel like Kelly treats all of our animals like they were her own! She is very compassionate and caring, especially with our one with special needs. You can tell she loves what she does! It’s very comforting to know we have someone like Kelly to take care of our pets when we are away. I 100% recommend Kelly!
Kelly has taken care of our lovely Gabby a golden doodle with such love and tenderness that one would believe she belonged to her. we never had worry or concern when she was in her care. knew this to be true because Gabby just loves to see her.
I could not come up with a better suited or more qualified person than Kelly to watch my dog. Kelly has been pet sitting for years, worked at a local dog kennel as their daycare supervisor and is currently employed at a Veterinarian Hospital in town. She has years of training and expertise in working with all kinds of animals. She can identify health concerns, and is very aware of animal behavior. She has been taught safe handling practices, therefore could handle challenging dogs. For me, Kelly is irreplaceable. I know that she is prepared for my dog's seizures and will handle him in an appropriate, skillful, and compassionate way.

Skills
Information Kelly B. would like to know about your pet
First and foremost, I would need to know that your dog is okay with cats because I do have two very friendly playful boys. With all of my clients I prefer to have a get-to-know-you visit with mom/dad, so that the dog can see me as a friend and not as a stranger when I take care of him/her. No breed preferences.
A typical day
I have a handy little passageway in my apartment complex right over to Tudek park. I love to go on long walks, study/read in the grass when the weather is fair, and I can monitor group play in the dog park.
