Energetic kindergarten teacher!

Pet care experience

Please read the entire bio!! I am a kindergarten teacher who enjoys long walks, cuddles, and play! I grew up with dogs in my home and understand the stress of leaving them in good hands while away! My two roommates are also dog lovers and sitters through Rover. We have a large apartment (great for fetch) and frequently explore the city with our furry pals. Having sat an array of breeds / personalities, I am completely content sitting a dog of any size and temperament. If you would like to schedule a meet & greet before the sitting I am more than willing to make that happen to ensure comfort. I am available for pickups / dropoffs before 7:30am and after 3:30pm on weekdays. ****TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION: I have two roommates and one currently works from home. If you know your dog has separation anxiety, and/or is just a chatty pup in general, out of respect for them I cannot board your pup. However, I am available for drop in visits or house sitting! ****TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION: If your pup is afraid of cars please note that we live on a lively street! ****TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION: We have a limit of three dogs in our spacious apartment. We ask that your pup be okay with having a playmate! If your pup is good with others but you are uncomfortable leaving the pup alone with others WE DO have large divider gates that split the space evenly! I look forward to meeting you and your pup!

Kellie was great with my dog! She took her for tons of exercise and gave plenty of updates. Very responsive and trustworthy to keep my dog safe and happy

Poor splinter has some tummy issues while staying with Kellie and she handled it all with a positive attitude, keeping me informed and making sure I didn't worry!

In my home: we have a cat and a small dog, if your pup is not good with either please let me know and I can separate the crazies using a gate that splits our apartment evenly. Our cat is typically a few feet off the ground because of his climbing rituals, so your pup might not even notice he is there. I have had clients come in for a meet and greet with our boys, which made everything more comfortable for the animals and the humans! One last thing! Feeding schedules are important, if your pup is a grazer we don’t want them grazing on the wrong food. We separate the babies for a couple hours multiple times a day so they can snack on what they need. My roommate that works from home handles the mid-day “snack break” and I am thankful for her! In your home: I treat others homes as if I am staying in an Airbnb with a very high cleaning fee! Everything is tightened up during the stay and before I leave. Your fur baby’s schedule does not change unless expressed to do so! I typically give updates in the afternoon but will respond to a text at any time. I want you to feel comfortable leaving your home and your pup/cat with me, communication is key! If your pup is stressed/sick: I will send you a picture of a questionable poop! Just warning! If this is normal, let me know. If it is not, let me know what I can do! I have made chicken and rice for a pup with stomach issues. I’ve gotten skin creams from the pet store, per request. I have scrubbed a cat water fountain. Whatever you need for this experience to be positive for you and your fur baby!

Information Kellie H. would like to know about your pet

Does your dog... Have separation anxiety? What does that look like? Have any triggers in the house (protective over crate/toys/food, marking particular furniture, chewing particular furniture, being picked up, having something taken away from them, any particular noise)? Have any triggers on walks (loud noises, other dogs, animals, skateboarders, joggers, people in hoodies etc.)? Have any atypical allergies? Enjoy going to the dog park or playing with other dogs in general? Have any injuries to keep an eye out for during walks? Have particular training you'd like to keep consistent through the sitting (ex. no sitting on the couch or bed)? Do they enjoy hikes or long walks? Have a favorite activity/toy?

A typical day

Feel free to bring any of your pup's favorite toys! We have an open living space and regularly use the large area for play! Walks are typically 20+ minutes. Weekend walks are absolutely endless (especially if it's a nice day)! Let me know if your pup loves others and I can take them to our dog park down the street!
