I have grown up with fur babies my entire life and I can't imagine life without our furry friends. Mya is my pride and joy and we love having friends over to hang out and play! I have a lot of experience taking care of Dogs and Cats. I am skilled with dog behavior, communication, and training. Your furry friend is my first priority so please don't hesitate to tell me what they need ahead of time. Whether they need a potty break, some intense exercise, some cuddles, or mild playtime I am more than happy to be there for your friend while you are away. Exercise is an essential tool to your friends happiness! So is training! I can help with basic skills as I trained my own pup with positive reinforcement only. I know consistency is key so let me know if you are training for anything specific and I will alter my visit accordingly. I am taking the American Red Cross first aid class which will give me an understanding of your pet's vital signs, breathing, cardiac emergencies, wounds, bleeding, seizures, and preventative care for cats and dogs. Personal bio: I am blessed to be a Property Manager for a fantastic company. I work in Austin M-F from 830am until 6pm. My boyfriend who lives with me also helps take care of the pups during work hours. He is a Mortgage Loan Officer who is blessed to have the ability to work from home most of the time. He also has many years of experience taking care of pups. I have my Masters in Counseling and Guidance and I am contemplating pursuing my PhD. I love being outdoors! Specifically I love to hike, kayak, and snowboard (but we can't exactly do that here). I do also love a good video game or movie now and then. FAQ: Do you board/host multiple pups at a time? Only if my first client allows and so on. I will never board multiple pups unless owners are comfortable. I have boarded 4 at one time and I usually cut off boarding at 4 to ensure every pup gets adequate care, love, and to ensure safety. What do you do with pups while your at work? Mya is crate trained and since she is still a puppy we prep some Kong’s, freeze them, and she stays in her “room” if nobody is home. My boyfriend is often working from home but we have a standard that we never ever leave her for more than 4 hours in her crate without a visit or walk. Your pups will be left according to YOUR preferences. If you prefer they be left out and about and they are housetrained (potty/chew) then I have no problems letting them roam around. When you housesit do you bring your dog? I have not yet. Only if your comfortable with it. Most times people choose house sitting over boarding to ensure there aren’t any other pup interactions. While I housesit my boyfriend stays at home with Mya and I do like to visit her a few times a day when I don’t get to stay overnight with her. What do you do in the event of an emergency? I follow your instructions. I luckily have never had to follow any emergency care instructions. I take preventative precautions to ensure nothing happens but if something does I will assess the situation quickly and act immediately. Of course the severity of an emergency might take precedence where I call you after I have started to handle the situation. Your pup is priority so if something happens I act immediately as I would if it were my own baby. I call/rush to emergency care, contact you, and follow your instruction. If you aren’t able to be reached I will take action and report to Rover and their emergency line as well.
