Grad student w/ a big suburban yard

Pet care experience

I have always loved dogs. Coming from a family who currently owns four dogs, I have been around dogs my whole life. I have been dog walking and sitting for three years and I love to work with new families and pups! I live in a beautiful suburban neighborhood in Amherst and have access to hiking trails and big fields right outside my backdoor. I can offer "light" grooming services like a wash and brush and I will be a vigilant tick-checker for your furry friend. I am willing to run with your dog and make sure your little buddy is comfortable. I always carry a portable water bowl and treats on walks to make sure your pup is a happy one! I look forward to meeting your delightful doggie!

Kelley was a great dogsitter! She stayed in our home with our dog Zoey, a rescue we’ve had for only four months and are still training and acclimating to our household. She conscientiously learned our commands and routines and provided excellent continuity for our pup. She sent us pictures and updates during our vacation, and clearly enjoyed her time with Zoey. When we returned, Zoey was relaxed and happy and the house was in great shape. We’ll be asking Kelley to dogsit again.

Kelley was the best. She is very responsible, she was responsive (when we asked for a couple of pix when we away), and took care of our house as well as we would - maybe better! And she took our dog for long walks and runs on trails and elsewhere. Would never hesitate to rec her -

Kelley was great! She came out to meet us and the dogs before we booked her to house sit them while we went on vacation, and was prepared with a list of topics to discuss. While we were gone, she sent us pictures daily, plus updates on what she and the dogs had done that day! We had never hired a dog sitter before, but she really put our minds at ease and allowed us to enjoy our vacation stress-free, without worrying about the dogs.

My husband and I have two dogs that are practically our children. When we had plans to head out of town, we were able to count on Kelley to watch the girls. Our biggest concern with leaving was knowing that they were going to be in good hands. When picking a sitter I wanted someone that was going to love and care for my pups as if they were her own. This was very true with Kelley. She was very attentive to their needs, and she ensured plenty of belly rubs! Knowing that they were in excellent hands put us at ease, so that we could enjoy our time away. The girls loved her, so that makes us happy dog-parents! We will be sure to use her again!!

Before sitting a dog, I like to meet the dog to see the breed and size, and get to know the dog's personality and demeanor! I appreciate owners who describe any behavioral quirks the dog has that I should know about or any other pertinent information relevant to that special doggy.

A typical day

I love hiking the Notch in Amherst, MA or walking any of the trails in the Amherst/Northampton area. I enjoy mountain biking and am willing to ride with a dog that is trained for trail riding. With smaller dog breeds, I enjoy leisurely roller-blading on the Norwottuck Rail Trail. I'm open to hearing any exercise suggestions or requests an owner may have.
