I am a 55-year old librarian and former Humane Society staff member, with four indoor cats and one dog-friendly medium-sized dog in our home. I have had dogs all my life. We live in a quiet neighborhood in a small , clean home with a good-sized yard (no fence). When we have "guest dogs," they stay in our living-room area on a bed just for them, while our own pets stay in separate rooms (unless your dog is cat-friendly, as our kitties love company!). We have a 20-foot cable outside on which your dog can run around for short periods if you don't want him/her to be indoors the whole time. If your dog stays more than one night and is good on a leash, I will also be happy to take him/her on a daily 1 - 2-mile walk. I ask that you provide a bed/blanket, a favorite toy, your dog's food, any special treats, supplements, or medicines, and a collar or harness for walks -- as well as your dog's crate if crate-trained -- whenever your pup comes to visit. Why I love dog sitting I have had dogs all my life, so have been a dog lover for over four decades. Most of my dogs have been rescue / shelter dogs. I enjoy both large and small dogs, and love to take them out on walks. Meet my pets Currently, four indoor cats, Juju, Jericho, Alchemy and Ozymandias. One is blind, two are three-legged cats :) Also, one neutered male dog, Castiel, who is very dog-friendly. All are used to having guest pets in the home. About my yard I have a back yard that is away from the street, but it is unfenced. Any guest dogs that go outside during their stay are either on a cable (with owner permission), or on leash accompanied by me.
