Growing up I spent many weekends and summer breaks on my grandpa’s farm in Michigan. I have no doubt that’s where my love for animals began. Before I had a real job I would spend hours grooming my grandpa’s horses & playing with the dogs. I begged my mom for a dog of my own, but she joked that she already had 1 dog (my dad) & 5 puppies (myself & my siblings)! 🤣 Basically she didn’t want any more responsibilities. So any chance I got I volunteered to walk & care for my neighbors dogs. I have worked in the pet care industry for almost 20 years. I volunteered at shelters, then I became a veterinary assistant. After I graduated college (Animal Science degree) I managed pet resorts in Missouri. I am transitioning into a new career, and I work part time. Therefore, I have plenty of time to pet sit and take long walks . Every time I walk a dog I use a slip lead along with the owners’ leash. I have found that some dogs are escape artist… As an extra precaution I use a slip lead to ensure that your pet is safe.
