Kayla was very professional, I appreciated her effort to meetup before confirming booking, very responsible. Enjoyed my dog’s daily updates, was great to see her happy face while I was away.

Fully Insured Responsible Pet Lover

Hi my name is Kayla and I am avid animal lover and had pets for majority of my life. I am fully insured through Pet Sitters Associates, outside of Rover. I currently have my 7yr old dog Harley. I am an experienced pet sitter / walker / trainer with over 15 years experience including rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned, abused, or neglected dogs. I am reliable, trustworthy and energized sitter, who wants to do nothing short ...

What Kayla would like to know about your dog

When I meet a new client and their dog, there are some questions I like to ask before the stay. I believe that having a thorough conversation about your pet's history, behavior, temperament, level of socialization, and individual quirks, will ensure that I am a great match for you and your dog. All of the questions I ask at a meet-and-greet are aimed at giving me the best, overall picture of your pet's personality, and will provide me with the information I need to provide top quality care and a worry-free visit. Also, all breeds are welcomed. Whether you have a teacup Yorkie, or an over-sized Great Dane that thinks they are a lap dog, all doggie visitors will feel at home! While I don't have any breed preferences, I do have a slight location preference. For any clients in NJ, I will not be able to offer my services if you are not within the immediate area of the PATH Train.
Some typical questions I will ask at a meet-and-greet are:
-How long have you had your pet(s)? Please give me a brief history of your relationship together.
-Does your pet(s) have any medical issues or special care instructions?
-What is your pet(s) typical daily routine?
-How often does your pet interact with other dogs? Please describe those interactions.
-Does your pet pull on the leash? Do they lunge at other pedestrians during walks, or try to chase after cats, cars, squirrels, etc.?
-What are your pet's favorite games to play/treats to eat?
-Are they up to date on their required vaccinations? (I will need to see proof before arrival, if booked)
-How many times a day are they fed & how much for each serving?
-Does your pet get along with children? I do not have any children, but kids love to play with animals and I wouldn't want any mishaps on my walks with your dog.
-Is your pet housebroken?

The meet-and-greet is a great time to discuss your dog's care and address any of your concerns, so please come prepared with any questions you might have for me! Please share anything else you find valuable and important. I will provide a free bathing if your dog stays 7+ days (As long as your baby, will allow me to safely bathe them).

When Kayla watches your pet

My neighborhood and building
I live in Tribeca in a dog-friendly building that include elevators (especially important for senior/ special need dogs with joint issues), 24 hour concierge for security/safety, close proximity to Worth Street & Reade Street Veterinary, 3 dog parks, Hudson River Park and Battery Park.

Here's where we'll take our walks
As far as daily activities go, your furbaby will get 3 (30 minutes and average 1.5 miles each) walks a day, morning. noon & night, in addition a pre-bed bathroom trip as well. Depending on your dog's specific exercise needs and sensitivities, I usually walk around the area, mostly along the Hudson River Park. Or I can take your baby to the dog park, but I do not take dogs to the dog park unless you specify it's OK. If you don't want your dog to join in the dog park, I usually stay away from the run’s vicinity and walk in the neighborhood. If you have a special needs dog or a senior dog that you prefer not walked too often, let me know.

Your dog's sleeping arrangement
I do have very comfortable dog beds laid out in the apartment, always cleaned prior to your dog's arrival. He/she can sleep and hang out with me in the living room and/ or roam around the apartment freely during the full day. Your furbaby will be encouraged to sleep with me freely in my bedroom. If he/she is very stressed I can separate in the hallway with a pressure gate or crate to help alleviate the scariness of a big new space (though not necessary).

Time I'll spend with your dog
Since I am typically home majority of the time of the day. Your furbaby will get plenty of play time, multiple walks, hang out with my family freely in our apartment. So I would say an average of 10+ hours (not including sleeping) your pup will be spending with me.

Time I'll spend with your dog
For overnights I offer your pup(s), two (30 minute) walks a day, morning & evening and then a quick midday walk. Depending on your dog's specific exercise needs and sensitivities, I usually walk around the area.

Extra house-sitting services
I have absolutely no problem watering your plants, bringing in your mail or packages or at no additional charge. If you do have other pets as well in the home you need taken care of, we can talk about any possible charges (if at all).

*I do not stay overnight for pets other than dogs
*For clients outside of Manhattan, your location must be within the immediate vicinity of a train station
